This thread isn't about the Bush Administration. Count me as among Americans who are very concerned about the border situation and members of this board who would appreciate keeping the focus on the thread topic, which is whether ISIS is at the southern border.

Both Breitbart and Fox News are claiming "exclusives" on a leaked Texas Dept. of Public Safety document.

Well, looks like all of the folks laughing at Perry have flown the coop.

    I'm shocked.

Re: head asplode for some of you

I just hope more information is forthcoming. People have been talking for years now about terrorists slipping across the Mexican border, so if ISIS has a presence in Juarez (or elsewhere), I wouldn't be very surprised. Only yesterday PM Cameron talked to his nation about an increased threat level.

I agree with John Hayward here: "To be sure, “increased chatter” is a perennial feature of the September 11 season...."

But he goes on to say in this piece from Human Events:

But this report from Judicial Watch sounds like a good deal more than generalized misgivings. A low-tech bombing attack on the border crossing, during a busy hour, could inflict a lot of carnage on both Mexican and American citizens. Or maybe Ft. Bliss itself is the potential target, or a softer target in El Paso. It’s always tricky to guess what response terrorists are anticipating, but one would think the savvier sort of monster would understand that a big cross-border attack might actually wake up the somnolent American Ruling Class, or at least shame them into doing something about border security, so it’s not an opportunity to be burned off lightly.

Breitbart News has posted a leaked document from the Texas Department of Public Safety warning about increased interest from ISIS in the southern border. This document asserts that the recent stunt pulled off by James O’Keefe of Project Veritas, in which he paraded back and forth across the border dressed as Osama bin Laden without any notice taken by the authorities, heightened the interest of actual terrorists in exploiting our security vulnerability. (Which is not O’Keefe’s fault, since anyone not working or shilling for the Obama Administration already knew about that vulnerability. ISIS doesn’t have an immigration agenda that relies on pretending the border is much safer than it actually is, so of course they got the message before anyone in the Administration.) If one isn't looking, the assertion that "I see nothing" , while true, is meaningless. We'll know soon enough if ISIS or others intent on murder are here. Thank you, Sergeant Schultz, and the Pentagon.

Yes, we will see soon enough. If Texas is attacked, I wonder if Texans will wait for the feds to take action. I don't think they will.

I wouldn't wait while the feds consider a strategy, and I wouldn't be concerned about Mexican sovereignty, either. If we are not to be concerned about Syrian sovereignty, why would we be concerned about Mexican sovereignty?

Because Mexico's closer to home, I hope? Meanwhile, the Nero strategy may cost American lives.

If the Mexican government truly wanted to clean up their side of the border, we might help. There's no way to be certain with this administration, though. If Mexico decides it has no interest in cleaning it up, we should do it ourselves. I have no love for the Mexican government. They have no problem picking up an American who accidentally drifts into their territory with a couple of guns, but can't seem to get interested in shutting down the cartels or other groups who are armed to the teeth - probably because certain members of their government benefit from the status quo. They've done little to inspire respect.
