Sure at the cost of better than 100 billion dollars a year and god knows how many more American servicemen lives. What do you just want to spend a 100 billion in Iraq every year for the next century or so? We could have pulled out 50 years from now and the place would have disintegrated just like it did now.

Can you name another middle East dictator that has invaded its neighbor in the last 30 years? Saddam did it twice.

Also, do you oppose ousting Gaddafi in Libya? Seems he was serving much the same purpose...

That's why they pay the PMC's in oil. The PMC's will then have a very vested interest in making sure those oilfields are very safe to operate in. Otherwise they wont get paid. Win Win.

We're not referring to killing people, we're referring to actually piling bodies.

False. As configured at the time of pull out the US military sat in very fortified bases away from populated areas. The war was over and the ISIS types were biding their time for our departure. By leaving 20,000 troops in theater (like we did in Korea) to rob the enemy of the opportunity. They would know that any action on their part would be met with a rain of fire in a matter of hours or minutes.

Yeah, the Iran-Iraq war was sanctioned by the US... your point? You are the one seeking a new dictator to keep his boot on the throat of the country's inhabitants.

Also, your list proves my point.

And I ask again, do you support Obama's efforts to topple the Gaddafi regime?

I'd throw Egypt into that question too but the action wasn't quite as risky there since Egypt has always had a spare dictator.

Iraq is not Korea. South Korea does not have a populace that believes that our having a base there is an example of infidels on their lands. Keeping troops in Iraq was predicated on them actually wanting us to be there, they didn't.

No, I think we were better off with Gaddafi in power there. Moreover, I think we would have been better off had we backed Bashar Al-Assad in Syria and not allowed the country to devolve into civil war - and thus provide the genesis for ISIS.

Re: ISIL Beheads American Photojournalist in Iraq

I'm appalled to see more of the same old Islamophobia. Hating on Muslims seems to be an all-Amerikkkan sport. Where is the tolerance, the cultural sensitivity? First this horrible country provokes the freedom fighters in ISIS into defending themselves, and then it condemns them for it.

Well, hey, here's a news flash--it was whitebread Amerikkka that murdered millions of African-American slaves, waged a genocidal war using smallpox to exterminate Native Americans, made women nothing but property to be raped at will, and dropped nuclear weapons on innocent civilians. So don't pretend there's anything so ******g wrong with beheading people who make war on Islam. Like, give us a break.

This legitimate execution by ISIS is just the bitter harvest of U.S. colonialist aggression against non-whites around the world. As the Reverend Jeremiah Wright said about 9/11, America, your chickens have come home to roost. How do you like it now that the shoe's on the other foot, little Johnny and Janey white America?

We didn't even try. Obama promised he would get the troops out and that is all he cared about. Obama's response now is the real tell. We now have the invitation to return as the heroes of Iraq and solidify US position in Iraq as an ally and he will not commit sufficient troops, even in a defensive posture.

    We agree on this point.
