The title of the article is a bit misleading, but this is interesting.

When the Ferguson police department released the name of Darren Wilson, they also chose to release video footage which they claimed was of Michael Brown robbing a convenience store for some cigars.
The problem is, the video shows Michael Brown at the register, paying for the cigars.

They never called to report a theft according to their attorney either.

This case has a lot of holes in it. I think everyone need to pump their brakes and wait for all the evidence to come out before declaring who deserve to die and who should go to jail.

There are too many moving parts.

Can someone point out the credit / bank card or cash in the video at this BLOG? I watched it a bunch of times and can't make out him paying and getting a receipt which is standard practice for purchasing something at a store. Huh....

And really, aren't blogs the most unbiased and truthful sources available? They simply NEVER try to push a specific point of view do they? :lamo

Re: Brown paid for cigars - Ferguson Police Busted – Attempt To Defame Shooting Vict

If he paid for them, that's great...but where in the video does it show him paying for them? Give me the time point so I can look a little closer. I don't see any cash or credit changing hands...but a lot of it does happen behind the register and out of view.

So, THAT'S why this man mountain menaced the clerk half his size by grabbing him around the neck. It's because the fellow was trying to return his money to him, and he wasn't having any part of that.

Thanks for shedding such light on the subject.

This doesn't really make sense. Why would the store owner have come out to confront him, and why would a customer have called 911?

The owners have been quoted as saying a customer called the police, not them. Why wouldn't they also have said there was no robbery?

Of course they do, but for all the conservative blogs we are expected to take at face value....besides, do you trust the government to release information that's damaging to their case? I don't.

I think it's especially odd that no theft was reported according to the Market's own attorney....I'll watch it again to see if I can see where the exchange of funds happens.

Re: Brown paid for cigars - Ferguson Police Busted – Attempt To Defame Shooting Vict

The manager didn't call the cops because they were afraid of reprisal. Another customer saw what happened and called 911.

When the video was released, there WAS violent reprisal - the shop got looted, the windows were smashed, even the cash register was taken.

Uh-huh. What a sad situation. Sad to watch the baiters bait, and the haters hate.

It is very sad to see everybody ignore evidence that doesn't support the story that they want to believe.

If this was a robbery. These are the most polite robbers I've ever seen. Notice how his friend places the box back on the counter and Brown places some of the cigars back on the counter before picking up the ones on the floor.

There is more to this story that should be look at before judgement is place.

Blogs shouldn't be used as source material. Period.

I find it odd that the police report (2 sources linked) shows Brown stealing Swisher Sweets as under "Strong Arm Robbery". Is that just the cops covering their asses for the media?

I'll ask again, can you point to where he paid for what he allegedly bought and got the receipt in the video?

very much could be the store owner should be able to verify if he paid for the cigars or not. it shouldn't be that hard to confirm.

I couldn't agree more. This bit of propaganda you've posted certainly doesn't help one side of the debate. Paying for the cigars? Exactly where does it show that in the video?

Re: Brown paid for cigars - Ferguson Police Busted – Attempt To Defame Shooting Vict

It's hard to see the exchange because of the scratch off tickets or whatever that is in the way. Nothing in the video makes me necessarily believe that anything illegal took place. There's no sound, so we don't know what was said.

If this video is proof of a robbery, I'm having a hell of a time buying it.

Re: Brown paid for cigars - Ferguson Police Busted – Attempt To Defame Shooting Vict

Did the cop that shot Michael brown know that fact?

It's unknown what the cop knew and when he knew it at this point. Brown getting shot is not the topic of this thread though.... this thread is claiming Brown paid for items at the store in the video which was already released.

I find it odd Browns buddy admitted to what happened. Oh that's right, they threatened to torture him if he didn't.

It doesn't show any kind of altercation either. Which would be the whole premise behind shooting him.

Re: Brown paid for cigars - Ferguson Police Busted – Attempt To Defame Shooting Vict

Did the cop that shot Michael brown know that fact?

It's looking that way. The way his side of the story has been presented he initially stopped Brown for jaywalking and just after disengaging received a suspect description from the officer investigating the robbery. At that point he went back to Brown.
