National Guard called in to Ferguson

https://governor.mo.gov/sites/default/files/Executive Order 14-09.pdf

No links to an actual story yet but it's getting aired on CNN.

Well, they've tried letting things take their course and they got looting and riots. They tried bringing in a Ron Johnson and that didn't work. They tried a curfew and that didn't work. So now it's the National Guard.

I really feel sorry for all the people that aren't being idiots. It's looking like there is some kind of organized effort to keep fanning the flames in Ferguson and the citizens of that town are the ones suffering because of it. This thing has gone way, way beyond a protest. It's got the institutional hate of the occupy movement and the racial heat of the "community activists" coming together to **** up things for everyone else.

Damn, people! You've got Mike Brown's parents who can't even bury their kid because of this insurrection and you've got a cop who's looking at the black hole his life's become even though the investigation isn't done. This is what we get when a nation turns away from God and places their own interests above all else. How about a little humility, folks? How about a little compassion? How about taking two seconds to think about the way that your actions are going to mess someone else up?

Well, as I was writing it seems CNN has added this to their webpage - Missouri National Guard headed to Ferguson - CNN.com

I feel terribly sorry for the folks in Ferguson too, Luther.

Mornin' Luther. :2wave: Here is what Nixon said on it.

Missouri governor deploys National Guard to 'restore peace' in Ferguson .....

In his statement, Nixon called the acts "deliberate, coordinated, and intensifying violent attacks on lives and property in Ferguson." The day had started with "hope, prayers, and peaceful protests," but spiraled out of control due to "violent criminal acts of an organized and growing number of individuals, many from outside the community and state, whose actions are putting the residents and businesses of Ferguson at risk."

Missouri governor deploys National Guard to 'restore peace' in Ferguson - The Week

If they know this and so does the FBI.....why haven't they arrested any of those New Black Panthers that are there? Especially their leader who they said was inciting violence towards the police?

False. The primary cause of the riots is a bunch of lying "witnesses" claiming a police office assassinated a surrendering suspect.

And how do you know that they are "lying"?

Because they said that Brown was shot in the back when TWO autopsies, one paid for BY THE FAMILY, show no evidence of Brown being shot in the back.

They should have done this instead of bringing in the State Troopers, imo.

My own opinion is that the Ferguson police department should not have "circled the wagons" to protect one of their own in what, even obvious to them, must have been a bad shoot. Their secrecy, lack of investigation, and stubbornness aggravated every level of this conflagration. Black neighborhood, white police force just becomes more inflammatory. It was the knee jerk reaction to protect one of their own that has caused this.

You seem to specialize in posting lies, especially when you say ignorant things like this.

The witnesses said he was shot in the back. That is a lie. Why you insist on poisoning your brain with the hatred built on lies is a mystery to me.

So, the witness was wrong. That doesn't mitigate the facts of the autopsy. I'll ask again, are you dense?

What are the facts of the autopsy? You posted an article that disproves the witness account and supports the police officer account. You have somehow twisted that in your head into supporting the witness account and disproving the police account.

All you have to do is watch the press conference. If you're too lazy to do that, too bad. I'm not going to indulge you in your laziness. Have a good day.

I was about to whole-heartedly agree and then this:

"what happens when a nation turns away from god"

They should have done this instead of bringing in the State Troopers, imo.

One would think the state troopers with the right gear would be able to crush this rebellion

Sucks to be the innocent ones in the riot but  a riot is a riot, you will be treated like the worst one participating in the riot.

Typical bull**** tactic, TexMex. You link to a NYT article that you claim proves your point. When it doesn't you change your tune and now it's the press conference proves your point.

You are hunting for affirmation of your blood lust for this police officer and it's embarrassing. Seek help.

I think that the police officer must of been questioned immediately after the shooting and he must of signed a statement. At least his version of what happened.

Where is that statement?

Nobody is asking for a "Complete" statement of the facts overnight ..... they are asking for the statement which must of been provided to the supervisors by the policeman before he was allowed to leave the station for home on the very first day. Nobody is demanding that the complete facts be known today. They want to know what the policeman's version (his justification or reasoning) was within hours of the shooting. Not after every witness has been interviewed and after the case has been made ready for a final decision as to prosecution or not.

I think that the police are holding back until they interview all the eye witnesses and know the evidence against the officer and thus will be using the additional eyewitness evidence which they have gotten to know over these past few days to give the officer a chance to change his original statement.

It seems to me that the officer must of said within the original statement immediately after the shooting that he was not aware that there was a strongarm robbery at the store, or the chief would not of mentioned this fact, and because it was this chief who took or heard the officers statement within hours after the shooting.

But perhaps after being given the opportunity of changing his original statement over these past days, the mixup or error is because the police officers statement has changed since the original and now the officers statement will read that he did know that the dead man was a wanted man.

I would never trust any statement from this police officer which is said to be the truth now.

Calm

It`s kind of what always happens when police overstep their boundries and murder someone.

I remember the riots in London, Greece and France.

I am just suprised that I never saw such riots in the US.

And the prime cause of the situation in the US is the militarisation of the police forces.

Who was murdered?

I agree. The police seem to antagonize people more and more each day instead of defusing situations. Police really hate when they are being filmed and harass people who film them. The police are nothing but jack booted thugs. The people of Ferguson have a right to protest. Not all are looting or rioting. It is hard to believe that the police did NOT stop the looting but did arrest people smoking in a parked car on private property.

Yeah, tue cops should stand down and allow things to calm down...oh, wait...

Who was murdered?

The cops in France, who caused the riots in Paris, were sentenced for manslaughter, since they chased the kid into a high voltage line.

The 2 despicable cops in Greece, who caused the riots in 2008, were found guilty of murder, after they had shot a 15 year old boy simply because he had insulted them.

The cops in London were found not guilty under controversial circumstances which might have renewed inquieries into the armed police forces as a consequence.

I guess there wont be much difference here, since the circumstances sound very very very similar to what happend in Greece in 2008.

Has Ferguson enhanced or detracted the National stature of Gov. Nixon? I mention this as we've seen GOP contenders like Rand Paul also weigh in. Nixon and Beshear are my favorite Democratic governors .

1) it must suck to be a cop in France

2) there's way more to the Michael Brown shooting than just insulting a cop. Here, in the civilized world, assaulting a cop is a crime AND the cop has the right to defend himself.

The National Guard call out is not about 'respect', but fear.

They will be heavily armed.

If these rioting and looting morons actually listened to King, they would not be breaking the law like they have.

They deserved to be hammered - hard.

Would you recommend tanks? Apache gunships? Napalm? What exactly does hammering them hard mean?

there is NO proof yet that Brown assaulted the cop.

Not a single shred of proof.

Assaulting a person will leave marks on the body. And the autopsy found NONE.

In the actualy civilised world, where there is no incest, racism is seen as disgusting and people wash themselves more often than just once a week, scientific evidence is what people want to see concerning a crime.

Not the ramblings of a guy with a confederate flag tatood on his forehead.

That WAS put out. The cop says that Brown tried to grab his gun and then rushed him.

It didn't help the situation.
