Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday took another step toward authorizing a lawsuit against President Barack Obama, Claiming he has overstepped his executive powers in carrying out his landmark health reform law.

What does anyone think about this?

I predict that the GOP'S attempt to win in court what it couldn't win in a fair election will not succeed.

What I'm saying is that this has about the same chance of succeeding as a GOP impeachment of the man that they couldn't beat at the ballot box.

Executive powers can only do so much. It appears Obama has overstepped his bounds several times. I hope these lawsuits gain ground.

It is the job of the president to execute the laws of the land faithfully and completely. that even includes laws he doesn't like. obama doesn't care.
he is attempting to change law by executive order. he doens't have the power to change law. that is congresses job.

his constantly delays and changing of obamacare is overstepping.
his changing of immigration enforcement or lack thereof overstepping.

there are several others as well.

I am not sure, but the courts have seemed generally to uphold aca. I did have the feeling that the program was poorly done and maybe Obama did overstep in a number of places. But I will follow with interest.

The general public dislikes Obama's executive actions because it shows lack of cooperative spirit. They dislike GOP antics like this for the same reason.

The Hobby Lobby ruling tells me the Supreme Court is not so tied to the entirety of the ACA and/or the administration's manipulation of it. In this particular issue, however, it's hard to see what the court could do as a remedy since it seems that there are very few people who are harmed or who actually oppose what the administration did in delaying the implementation. In the other cases heading toward the Supreme Court, they could definitely rule against the administration and that will have a severe impact on the implementation of the ACA - could even kill it.

A lawsuit??

All I can say about that is, "Good luck!"

Ladeeeees and gentlemen, welcome to the Greatest Show on Earth! In this ring, we have Magnifico, the lion tamer with two lions, a donkey, and an elephant! Watch while he feeds the donkey to the lions and mounts the elephant himself! In that ring, we have the tightrope walker, no net folks, nope, just a golden parachute just in case the election goes badly! In the other ring, we have the fastest talker in the world, listen while he utters 6,000 words per second while saying nothing at all!

What do they get if they win?

Good question.

It will be interesting to see what any court gives them, in the unlikely event that they win.

I guess that a court could tell Obama that he must ignore the U.S constitution and play by the GOP's rules.

Let's wait and see what happens.

Oh wait...Obama has been following the US Constitution??
