He was great! I'll miss him.

He was great! I'll miss him.

Thanks for posting this, apdst. I saw it earlier on Yahoo and meant to post it, but I got sidetracked! My bad! I can't think of any role that he played that I didn't like! Great actor, and I loved his smile. R.I.P James Garner. You were one of the great ones! Condolences to his family and friends! :peace:

Greeting, apdst. :2wave:

When I was a kid, dad would watch Rockford Files religiously. At first it was just time to be with dad, but I got to where I enjoyed the show in its own right.

Ah man, The Rockford Files, Support You Local Sheriff, he was one of my favorites. Here's his filmography:

RIP James. Loved the Rockford Files and dozens of his movies. He was always entertaining. One of my all time faves.

Another talented actor passes. Condolences to his family and his many fans around the world.

Yes, he was one of those rare actors who was always himself, yet nevertheless became whatever role he was playing without becoming type cast. One of those actors that no matter what role he played, you could not not watch. Rockford Files became iconic as did his starring role in the TV series "Maverick". I think my favorite movie of his was "Murphy's Romance" with Sally Fields.

Only thing I remember him from is the old guys reunion when they went into space to deal with that Russian sattellite. What was that movie? Space Cowboys!

I think that's why everyone liked him, he was a real person

According to the filmography, he was in Twilight.

Loved the Rockford files and many of his movies, including The Great Escape.

I loved Garner and always thought he was gorgeous. Here's a clip from The Great Escape (If you've never seen the movie, Donald Pleasance's character, "The Forger," has gone blind, and James Garner, known as "The Scrounger" for his procurement talents, is the pilot):

I enjoyed all his work, and he seemed like a good guy.

RIP.

Good actor and a very likable guy. I used to watch MAVERICK as a kid with my dad - he just loved westerns.

Indeed, he was a great man! :)

RIP Jim Garner.

Its so sad John. All the great ones are dying off....Kirk Douglas is about the only one left.......I remember Garner well for his parts in the old TV series Maverick and for one of my favorite movies of all times "The Great Escape.. God Bless him and may he rest in Peace.

Growing old can be hell - either you die or all those you knew and enjoyed life with die before you.
