Well I'll be danged! Dog-gone the luck, eh?!?

The Federal Election Commission recycled the computer hard drive of April Sands — a former co-worker of Lois Lerner’s — hindering an investigation into Sands’ partisan political activities, according to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

Sands resigned from the Federal Election Commission in April after she admitted to violating the Hatch Act, which bars executive branch employees from engaging in partisan political activities on federal time and at federal facilities.

It's not a conspiracy. People randomly grind up specific hard drives at randomly specific times all the time.

Common place, I say!

Everyone that Lerner knows loses a hard drive, so I'm sure it's just a coincidence...lol!!

Well at least obama didn't lie on this one. There isn't a smidgen of proof, and how could there be when it was all destroyed!

After he made the, "nobody's more pissed off than me", speech, he was on the phone, "get rid of all that ****, now!".

American government is either very backward or very corrupt, or perhaps both.

Don't you people have records retention legislation in American government?

Here in Canada, there is no ability for data stored electronically to be destroyed in one format that isn't also retained globally in another format for the mandated period of time. I find it incredible that these things are happening with little or no concern. Here in Ontario, the Provincial Government, the Premier's Office and staff, and a couple of ministries are under police investigation for attempts to destroy data related to a scandal stored on government computers. Yet in Washington, it's just considered political games. I find that troubling and it's disturbing that more people don't feel the same.

Oh yeah! That information is stored, somewhere. But, with all the *****-footing around the violaters aren't afraid to obstruct the system. It's not as if the DOJ is getting involved; they're too busy investigating a guy making an anti-Obama parade float and a traffic jam in New Jersey. I mean, they're so swamped with real crimes like those there's no way they have resources available to investigate anything else.

It's really simple - here in Ontario, the Privacy Commissioner discovered that the Premier's Office lied to her about information that was requested. As a result, a member of parliament in the opposition simply sent a letter to the Commissioner of the Provincial Police and asked that the matter be investigated, and the police are doing just that.

Seems to me, there's too much political interference in American law enforcement and justice and that only leads to banana-republic corruption and abuse.

Everyone's afraid of Obama. We've already seen how the Liberal machine goes into action when someone gets too close to uncovering Obama's corruption.

I appreciate the sentiment, but this isn't about Obama for me - this isn't partisan for me - this is about confidence in and respect for government. It shouldn't be up to a political appointee to decide whether or not alleged criminal offenses have been committed by government departments or agents and whether or not such allegations should be investigated.

The DOJ has refused to investigate any of this and Obama has claimed that there isn't a smidgeon of corruption. Call it partisan all you want, but it is what it is.

I don't disagree with a word of what you've posted - my point was that it doesn't matter if it's a Democrat or a Republican in the Oval Office, the political interference in law enforcement and the Justice Department isn't right and engenders no confidence or respect in government.

That, I agree with.

In the States, the IRS can turn someones life upside down. Ruin it. This "mishap" (yeah...right...:lamo) does very little to foster confidence. I would even argue it is a major blow. More than the VA, HHS and Obamacare, etc.

I would love to be audited <---(insert sarcasm here)... and tell the IRS my computer crashed... I lost my records.

I'm sure that would go over swimmingly. :sinking:

The IRS can and will access your bank account and leave you penniless...literally. Sometimes, they make mistakes; think they give a rat's ass when they do? Nope!

That's way too much power for an administration as corrupt as the IRS to have.

I agree - it's why I strongly believe that politics should have no place in the investigation and prosecution of criminal wrongdoing by government and its agents.

Who gives a **** anymore? The GOP won't press hard because the media would crucify them and the LIQ voters would come out in droves. The media doesn't care cause they are so stuck on Obama that the man could slaughter babies in front of them and they'd find a way to blame Bush. The people don't care cause they just go home, watch Comedy Central and read the latest twitter feed from a Kardashian.

America is ****, and it's **** because the people have squandered the greatness they were bequeathed. Like spoiled little turds of rich aloof parents.

I think Holder should launch a investigation.

Check why the Federal Government keeps winding up with such shoddy hardware.

These hard drive manufacturers shoddy equipment is keeping the House from doing their job !

They also charge you interest on their money, but you can't charge them that same interest. They will laugh you out of the office.

If the DOJ does not move on this its pretty obvious that Eric Holder is covering his own arse. This is soo big it goes right to the Oval office,
