    Greetings, 24107.
yes these rebels who are essentially al Qaeda are Directly funded by Saudi Arabia. No funding from Saudi Arabia equals no existence of al Qaeda or ISIS.

Heya 24. Well really you would also have to take out Qatar and their backing of the MB.

There are a number of different Muslim sects (Sunni and Shiite conflicting in Iraq with the Kurds thrown in), each having slightly different beliefs and value systems.

Of these, seems that Wahhabi movement - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia is the most conservative, with strong support for Sharia law. OBL was a Wahhabi from Saudi Arabia, for example.
So why is Obama asking Congress for money to help the rebels send Syria back to the stone age? Assad is a college trained doctor and wants his country to move forward, not backwards! And Syria is helping Maliki in his fight with rebels in Iraq by sending aircraft. This doesn't make sense - what is Obama thinking?

    Good evening to you, Erik.

I know, the Syrian rebels, most of them anyway are after an Islamic Republic. If I had my way, I think I would switch to backing and helping Assad, he may be an evil man, a dictator, all of that, but he is the best option available in Syria.
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

Here was concerning Iraq and if we would have bombed Syria.

An Iraqi Shi'ite militia group said on Friday it would attack U.S. interests in Iraq and the region if Washington carries out a military strike on Syria.

"All their interests and facilities in Iraq and the region will be targeted by our militants if the United States insists on attacking Syria," a spokesman for the Iraqi militia group al-Nujaba'a told Reuters by telephone, without giving details.

Al-Nujaba'a is an umbrella group which includes Iraqi Shi'ite militants who have crossed into neighboring Syria to fight alongside troops loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Assad is from the Alawite sect, an offshoot of Shi'ite Islam.

The group includes fighters of the Asaib al-Haq and Kata'ib Hezbollah militias and the Mehdi army militia of anti-U.S. Shi'ite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, which was mostly disbanded after its defeat by Iraqi and U.S. forces in 2008.....snip~

Iraqi militia vowes to attack U.S. interests if Syria hit

Also there is the Sunni Doctrine of Islam and the Shia Doctrine.
I hope Congress says NO to the money request! We're going to get blamed for whatever happens, so why would we help radical rebels overthrow Assad, who is apparently fairly well liked by his people? I just don't understand Obama's thinking! We need to stay out of this religious fight!

That's true my friend, but Qatar is essentially the little brother of Saudi Arabia. So many times I don't even bother to mention them. Also Bahrain is propped up by Saudi Arabia which is cracking the whip on the Shia majority there. But no calls for liberation or fighting terrorism there. I wonder why?

I am with you on this Pol. It seems we may be on the wrong side of history in Syria, Libya too. Not counting Iraq which one has to have a program to understand the players there.

I agree with not getting involved in their sectarian divide and its War......But the whole time. We could have been killing terrorists. With Drones......and with the CIA and any other types inside Syria, Turkey, and Jordan. That's if we wouldn't have backed the the Sunni Rebels to drive Assad out.

Even Assad and a Dictator is forced to Kill them like everybody else should be doing.

The Euros shouldn't even be thinking about sitting on the sidelines.

Would those weapons include the ones Sen. McCain personally brought with him when he wanted to bomb Syria?
As you know, the GOP has two wings in any foreign affair, sometimes more--the NEOs and ISOs.

Paul continues to position himself INSIDE the GOP for his Presidential run.
    If he ever finds a billionaire sugar-daddy, he'll break away and form a 3rd party top-down .
