They were suitable for both missile casings and centrifuge rotors. That's why the UN categorized them as "dual-use" contraband.
    THINK!
Nuclear experts said that the tubes were not suitable for the kind of centrifuge used in enriching materials for a nuclear bomb.
I can cite if you like.

Even from the beginning, our Dept of Energy said that the tubes wouldn't work for making a nuclear weapon.

    You are lying.

The experts merely said that they would need to be modified to use as centrifuge rotors.

They were contraband for a reason.

    THINK!

If Iraq had the ability to correctly modify tubes for nuclear centrifuges, they would not have needed to order them from without.

Points for calling me a liar. Makes you look tough and no-nonsense.

Apparently, I mis-remembered the details. But all the same, the conclusion is that the tubes were not for Iraq's nuclear program.

Iraqi aluminum tubes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    Department of Energy

Based on the reported specifications, the tubes could be used to manufacture gas centrifuge rotor cylinders for uranium enrichment. However, our analysis indicates that the specified tube diameter, which is half that of the centrifuge machine Iraq successfully tested in 1990, is only marginally large enough for practical centrifuge applications, and other specifications are not consistent with a gas centrifuge end use. Moreover, the quantity being sought suggests preparations for large-scale production of centrifuge machines, for which we have not seen related procurement efforts - and the tubes’ specifications suggest a centrifuge design quite different from any Iraq is known to have. ... While the gas centrifuge application cannot be ruled out, we assess that the procurement activity more likely supports a different application, such as conventional ordnance production. For example, the tube specifications and quantity appear to be generally consistent with their use as launch tubes for man-held anti-armor rockets or as tactical rocket casings. Also, the manner in which the procurement is being handled (multiple procurement agents, quotes obtained from multiple suppliers in diverse locations, and price haggling) seems to better match our expectations for a conventional Iraqi military buy than a major purchase for a clandestine weapons-of-mass destruction program. However, we have not identified an Iraq-specific, military, or other noncentrifuge application that precisely matches the tube specifications. [page 6]
    I may be wrong.

That's merely speculation on your part.

Don't lie to the forum anymore and I promise I won't point out the lies that were spoon-fed to you by leftoland crackpots which you are propagating. It's nothing but crude, false, derogatory anti-USA disinformation. Period.

    Again, that is speculative.

The contraband in question never got to Iraq because the shipment was intercepted in Jordan. That's the fact of the matter. You have no proof whatsoever to back up your ridiculous speculations that you state as facts.
