He was the chief of the department of the KGB in Germany which monitored Soviet soldiers stationed in eastern Europe.
His job was to capture Soviet soldiers who deserted and fled into the west.
Non the less, that isnt much better, especialy considering the rumors arround him suposedly making some of the people he got disapear.
Wasn't Hillary the Original Birther?
Before you criticize someone you should walk a mile in their shoes, that way when you do criticize them you'll be a mile away and you'll have their shoes.
Again crazy people cling to whatever they feel gives them that sense of importance and meaning. Sometimes that is a radical form of a religion, other times a political movement and yet other times it is a composite of things. The voices of birthers, truthers, OWS, Tea party, or sovereign citizen movements all can act like a clarion that wakes up some deep emotions that drive someone to want to do something for recognition. The "Hell YEAH" response to some of the worse unthinking or dangerous voices of any radical movement are heard by disturbed people as a call to action. When Glen Beck for example ranted in the crazy paranoid way he does about the Cloward–Piven strategy, an interesting and discredited approach to poverty written in the sixties, Frances Fox-PIvens a women in her late 70s was getting death threats. How is that rational on any level? On the left we see it when some organized in OWS to protest the government's bail out of the same people who caused the economic crisis of 2008 there were those who joined to commit vandalism and plan physical confrontations.
I think we should be careful how we connect people. That is not to say we shouldn't call out those who blow dog whistles for a living. I truly believe that Beck, OWS, and others have a responsibility to call out those who use their nonsense for evil intent and also in many cases to tone down the rhetoric.
