Immigrant Children Raped, Punched, Kicked in Border Patrol Custody: Complaint

A coalition of advocacy groups is demanding immediate action to end what they say is mistreatment of unaccompanied minor immigrants at the hands of U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents.
Children say they have been punched, kicked and raped while in custody, in a complaint with more than 100 allegations. Others say they were fed only frozen sandwiches, forced to drink toilet tank water or forced to use toilets in front of other detainees.

In a complaint filed Wednesday, one in four children reported some form of physical abuse, ranging from sexual assault to beatings to the use of stress positions.

Five victims' advocacy groups jointly filed the complaint with the Department of Homeland Security on behalf of 116 unaccompanied immigrant children, aged five to 17 years old.

There were multiple claims of sexual or racially-charged insults and strip searches.

The coalition says there is also the lack of basic care. In cases documented from March to May of this year, 80 percent of the children said they didn’t get enough food or water.

In a 2014 report that involved interviews of 224 young detainees, more than half of them said they were held in wrist and ankle shackles.

There have been many complaints pied up over time with these types of accusations. I think an investigation needs to brought forward to this, and that the way we treat immigrants while in custody needs some major reform. If any of these accusations show to be true, then we need major overhaul in how we detain undocumented immigrants.

Cartels are using kids as a diversion to tie up the BP while they move their poison across. But of course the BP are the bad guys.

Should have stayed home instead of illegally crossing a foreign border, I seriously doubt the rape charges. I seriously doubt most of these charges!
I say let the deportations begin!!!!

So no investigation should be brought into these cases just because they crossed a border illegally?
 
If the detainees are being fed food that they don't like, that's one thing. Abuse is another. No matter how overworked BP agents are, they are not allowed to treat people that way. Physical abuse, rape, humiliation? That has nothing to do with being overworked.

So, nothing should be done about this because "they might not have time to abuse"?

I think its lies put forth by those that have no regard for the rule of law of another country. If true then you can place blame squarely on the obama regime for creating this unnatural disaster.

Personally, I don't have a clue of what they are doing. Thus the reason for the investigations, right? And if they find out that the BP agents are engaging in this type of behavior, they should be prosecuted. Illegal or not, they are still human, and protected by law.

After reading the article its not the BP raping its their own Latinos raping one another. I thought they were claiming the BP was doing the raping and for that I apologize.
So awesome to be helping these criminals become americans huh? so overjoyed

I think this might have been going on before the Obama admin, instead has just been passed on. Its now just making headlines becasue of the uncovering of the children in lockup.

They already have been. Obama is outnumbering the last admin in deportations.
