Gallup: Majority Says Obama Not ‘Honest and Trustworthy’[W:202]

Re: Gallup: Majority Says Obama Not ‘Honest and Trustworthy’

Oh. I think it might work out similarly to how running against George Bush did in 2008. :)

Because it worked so well in 2012!!

But don't let me stop you, or the GOP, from thinking that is a winning strategy. It is my hope that they all continue thinking that they can win by defining themselves by what they oppose, instead of what they are for.

And one of our problems in 2012 was that we selected the guy least-suited to running against the ACA, whose problems hadn't even been forced upon the American people yet.

That is true, but the other candidates were even less suitable to win the election. And as far as the problems not haven been "forced" on americans then, the fact is that since those "problems" have been forced on them, opposition to ACA has *decreased*

Iraq and Syria are imploding, and Obama is getting ready for Afghanistan to implode. 2016 will feature a Democrat candidate completely incapable of distancing herself from Obama's foreign policy, having run most of it. It would be as if instead of McCain in 2008, Republicans had run Henry Paulson.

The elections will not be decided by what is going on in those places. I doubt those things will even be a small factor in most people's minds when they vote.

Re: Gallup: Majority Says Obama Not ‘Honest and Trustworthy’

Anyone who trusts ANY medium/major politician in Washington (from either party) is staggeringly naive, IMO.

Oh course Obama lies; so did GW Bush, Clinton, Bush Sr., Reagan, Carter, etc.......they ALL LIED.

Re: Gallup: Majority Says Obama Not ‘Honest and Trustworthy’

:) In 2012 Obama still had fairly high favorability ratings. The ongoing crises-to-crises that is the result of his failed leadership now is driving those numbers down into George W territory, which is why we have threads like these.

You think so, eh? Good luck with that.

Gallup Editor-in-Chief Frank Newport shares that 52% of Americans disapprove of the Affordable Care Act, up slightly from 45% in November 2012

The ACA is less popular than it was in November of 2012.

Additionally, because it's now actually impacting people, you get increased saliency and decision-making based on the issue. By more than two-to-one, Americans say the ACA has hurt rather than helped them, and when you add up the fact that people are loss-averse and include all the close friends and family of those individuals, the number of those most likely to respond negatively expands rather quickly. My father, for example, was an ACA supporter until his sister, my aunt, who is a 62 year old single retiree was kicked off her insurance and unable to afford the exchange options because her insurance (which she loved) lacked pediatric dental coverage for the children she did not have. Which is part of why three in 10 registered voters say when they vote for a candidate in the fall midterm elections, it will be to send a message that they oppose U.S. President Barack Obama, equal to the amount who said this before the Republican wave election of 2010.

The elections will not be decided by what is going on in those places. I doubt those things will even be a small factor in most people's minds when they vote.

If Hillary Clinton is running claiming that she has the personal ability to do a good job as President, you can pretty much bet everything you own on Republicans spending as much time as possible pointing out that the one major national level post she's held was overseeing the complete collapse of American foreign policy that had hugely deleterious effects for tens of millions of people.

Nonsense. His highest disapproval ratings of his presidency was just a few months before the election and the only crisis-to-crisis that exists is in the minds of the far right

You think so, eh? Good luck with that.

I do

Again, the only people who think that there has been a foriegn policy disaster are the far righties. most americans don't really give a crap.

Re: Gallup: Majority Says Obama Not ‘Honest and Trustworthy’

I bet a lot of those people will never vote for Obama again

Better yet never vote for a liberal again. Period

Yeah, but Obama is in your face a liar. Further he is the only president to be awarded the honored "Liar of the year award"

Re: Gallup: Majority Says Obama Not ‘Honest and Trustworthy’

For starters, Obama didn't win the "Liar of the Year" award, except maybe from the Born Free Times. He "won" the "Lie of the Year" award from Politifact.

There's an extremely good reason Obama is the only president to "win" that award -- Politifact has only been handing it out since 2009. He's the only president to win it, since he's the only president we've had since the "award" started.

A brief history of PolitiFact’s ‘Lie of the Year’ - The Washington Post

PolitiFact has been giving out the award since 2009. Four in five times, it has opted for a claim related to health care. In some cases, a Republican claim has taken the award. In others, Democrats' words came under scrutiny.

Well, since voting conservative would be at least equally as stupid, you seem to be advocating for people to not vote.

i believe the greeks invented a word to describe people who did not vote. it was used as a insult and it is still used today.

There were a lot of outlets who took that "Lie of the Year" award and blared it into the headlines "Obama liar of the year". Technically that would be true I guess if you say that the person who told the lie of the year is a liar.

But your point is also right that they haven't been giving out that award all that long.

It's a liar who tells the lie of the year, so even if it wasn't an official award (Liar of the Year), you can still make the case that he was the liar of the year.

Either way, it isn't good for Obama. Not a stellar award.

See another great thing obama created they had to create the award because of him.

Actually, the first Lie of the Year was awarded to Sarah Palin in 2009 for her "death panels" claim. Wow, you just failed hard.

Fortuitous timing by PolitiFacts, don't you think? It's like they knew the wealth of material they'd have upon the election of a certain someone.

I'm curious. Do you actually read or investigate ANYTHING, or do you just spew out idiotic right wing hackery whenever you post? The award was created in 2009. Obama won THIS year. It was not created for him in any way, shape, or form. You might try a little honesty in your posts, once in a while.

There are death panels in the bill. It may not be worded as "death panel" but it is in the bill.
lets see saving your life would cost 200k your 70 years old plus you are drawing from SS for retirement. Ya know it is just not cost effective to give you that surgery.
Instead here is some pain medications to ease your passing you have had a good long life.

Yes, fortuitous timing for the website to be founded in August 2007 as well, just in time for Obama to burst onto the national scene in the Democratic primaries. It's like they knew!

PolitiFact.com - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There are death panels in the bill.

/sigh

No, there are not. The insurance companies largely make the types of decisions you just listed -- just like they did pre-Obamacare. There is NOTHING in the PPACA regarding "death panels" or anything remotely similar to what you just said.

Re: Gallup: Majority Says Obama Not ‘Honest and Trustworthy’

Let's also not forget that Politifact was busted for rating Obama's "You can keep your plan" lie as being "True" on October 7, 2008. I'll bet they felt stupid when that was pointed out to them.

And yet, the jury's still out on that one. But Obama's big scam has already been proven to be a lie.

No, the jury is NOT "still out on that one." Death panels are not a part of the PPACA, period, end of discussion. This is incontrovertible fact.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Obama told his whopper over and over again in 2009. Many were smart enough to know it was a lie from day one. Others, not so bright. So technically, he's had the lie of the year every year since he's been spewing out his idiotic left wing hackery.

don't pull a dogberry on us, it would just embarrass the source material.

He should have won it EVERY YEAR they way he spews forth his lies.

Technically? No, that would not be accurate. votemout claimed that the award was created for Obama. It wasn't. "Technically" doesn't mean anything.
