No, Iran and Russia won't lift a finger to help them. Iran's Shiites are mortal enemies of the Sunni insurgents in Iraq, and have actually offered assistance to the Shiite dominated government of Iraq. And Russia is also their mortal enemy, since AQ and affiliated groups have supported attacking Russian soil.

I saw a video clip of ISIS traveling single file on a desert road, it would have been too easy.
That video clip may well have been a one time stunt for propaganda footage. At the end of the day, many of the Jihaders are combat veterans- some from multiple wars. They know how lethal US airstrikes are.

My guess is that they are moving in small groups, using slighly modified civilian vehicles, travel close to refugee columns, when they have to stop, its always residential areas, communication is done by olde fashioned messangers - no cell phones, radios etc. (they might use a pony express style network with motorbikes). During stops, and at night, the fighters never sleep near their vehicles.

As such, most would be very difficult to hit with airstrikes, espescially with out spotters on the ground.

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend", comes into play here. The Muslims and the Russians hate Americans far more than the sub-sects of Islam.

I kind of wished the leaks to media would halt, today; sending 100 US marines to Iraq, dumb, very dumb.

The answer to all of this is unmanned drones.

I don't know... I've never really said that before, I thought that that was pushing it if it's true, but even if true it may not be relevant, at least on its own.

I couldn't say with any certainty where his allegiances lie, however, there is a growing pile of pretty damming evidence that suggests that his allegiances are anything but towards Americans.

for chrissake he's favored about every extremist and or terrorist group that's sprung up in the middle east.

you can only cut a guy so many breaks before you just gotta stop giving the benefit of doubt.

That's why I quit giving Bush-Cheney the benefit of doubt. Both supported terrorists and dictators. Bush One did too, as did Reagan.

    No surprise here.
You would think the crisis in the Middle East would be way too serious for political opportunism but that is exactly what the Democrats have engaged in since 2003. So why not point out that the rise in terrorism we are experiencing as Obama’s “Mission Accomplished” moment! Has an American president and his party ever been so clueless about the state of the world? I think not.
