Your most welcomed. Sometimes you just have to give things time to get sorted out. Things are not always as they seem on the spur of the moment. This also applies to things political too. I try to do that, but I am not always successful.

Update! They are saying that when we call in Air Support due to Karzai ROE's, that usually it is only if they think they will be killed.

In Washington, U.S. defense officials said the five Americans were with a special operations unit that they did not identify. Earlier, officials had said all five were special operations-qualified troops, but later an official said their exact affiliation was unclear and one or more may have been a conventional soldier working with the special operations unit.

The deaths occurred during a joint operation of Afghan and NATO forces in the Arghandab district of southern Zabul province ahead of Saturday's presidential runoff election, said provincial police chief Gen. Ghulam Sakhi Rooghlawanay. After the operation was over, the troops came under attack from the Taliban and called in air support, he said.

In eastern Ghazni province, insurgents kidnapped 33 university instructors who were travelling to Kabul for a seminar. Kandahar provincial spokesman Dawa Khan Menapal said the 33 were taken by a large group of insurgents and there was no word on their fate. He said all were from the southern province.....snip~

This is why we need a dedicated close air support aircraft; an aircraft that designed to fly close air support. Bombers are area suppression weapons. They're in no way intended for attacking point targets.

Helicopter gunships ARE dedicated close air support aircraft, and both the Army and USMC have them.

If you're talking about keeping the A-10, I agree.
