It wasn't that long ago that such a slogan would seem absurd, but political wags are beginning to wonder whether Michelle Obama is mulling a run for Illinois Sen. Mark Kirk's seat in 2016.
A Thursday column in Reuters suggests that Obama would be the only candidate with a large enough profile to unseat the Republican.
The column also points to Obama's recent willingness to debate the merits of her school lunch program with Republicans, a trip to China, fundraising and her stance on the kidnapped Nigerian school girls as other signs that her tone is turning more political.

Nah, not unless she is going to run for a Senate seat in New York.....they are not coming back to Chicago.

BO wants his daughters to finish school out there Ivy League-in' it.

Not to mention they missed out getting his Museum here. They had to July 15 to get any help from the State. Their out to recess until after that. So the Bidding is down to Hawaii where he was born.....or New York. Where he wants to live out the rest of his days.

I guess he thinks it will keep him next to the Big City Lights and Show Crowd.

Not something I want to think about right now, thank you very much. If she does, or if Hillary runs for President, it kinda puts a muffle on the leftists that complain about "royal lineage" in political families regarding Jeb Bush.

I seriously doubt she'll run, but if she does... she would have to explain why "for the first time in my adult lifetime, I'm proud of my country." Among other little tidbits she's spoken.

Most Presidential kids have all gone to private schools because of security, except for Amy Carter.

What does that have to do with anything I said about BO not coming back to Chicago. Reading is Fund-a-mental.

How would any newspaper know what plans the President has vis a vis his daughters after the presidency. The President or any other parent usually doesn't follow their child off to college.

I recognize this theory is your opinion...but newspapers and wherther one reads one or not is irrelevant.
 
I don't think Michelle would run for office because she has a lot more of that rock star appeal she craves as ex first lady than she would as jr senator. MO's not about to take orders ftom anyone, especially We, the Peons .

Mornin SMW.....Maybe she will run in some other state. But one thing is clear she wont be running here.

Jesse Junior will be getting out in 2015 and then will be back home. Will be looking to get back into the game. Congressmen wont be open to him anymore. But now Senator.....could just appease his appetite and lavish habits. :lol:

There is a precedence here with Hillary Clinton doing the same. But Hillary choose to run in New York instead of Arkansas. Illinois is a deep blue state, not not as blue as New York. Illinois has a PVI of D plus six vs. New York's PVI of D plus 12. But to run in New York either Gillibrand or Schumer would have to retire or perhaps be appointed to a cabinet position prior to Michelle run.

But Illinois for 2016 anyway looks like the best bet for her if she is considering a senate bid. It is home territory and she would have the Chicago Democratic machine behind her. Kirk was elected in a wave election year for the Republicans and is very vulnerable. A Hillary Clinton at the top of the ticket with Michelle running for senate probably would be enough for her to win. But all of this is pure speculation for the time being.

One last thing, Bill left office with a 65% approval rating which rubbed off on Hillary which made her a darling of the Democrats for her run in New York. President Obama has a very long way to go to bring his approval ratings up to what Bill's were. If he remains in the low 40's, he would be a drag on Michelle. But in all things political, time will tell.

Yeah I figured you would try again, been awaiting. :cool: .....But then your clue should have been how the Illinois legislature dropped the ball on his Presidential Library/ Museum. That only NY and Hawaii are still in on the Bidding. Hawaii where he was Born and NEW YORK where he has told all close to him he will be making that move. At least a good 60 people.

Oh and the other factors of BO.....going to Colombia and Harvard. While MO.....went to Princeton. Should have been that Neon Sign you couldn't miss.

Which BTW.....just to pour a little more on it. Blbo and Hillary did the Same thing so that Chelsea could finish up Ivy League-in it too. So following Bilbo he isn't going to have his daughters come back here to go to any schools in Illinois.
