What the other funny part is. The Taliban isn't the ruling government of Afghanistan. Yet we are talking to them like they are. Imagine that!
    Shows were Obamas loyalties lie.

Don't confuse "better" with "good", either. Getting punched in the stomach feels "better" than getting kicked in the balls in most cases...

A little disheartening when you consider that the exact same people we went in to get rid of at the start will be the ones to fill the power vacuum after we leave...

What makes it really bad Jack.....is BO or none from his team even told the Newly Elected government of Afghanistan about this exchange. Now they have sounded off.

And in Kabul Monday, the Afghan Foreign Ministry called the swap "against the norms of international law" if it came against the five imprisoned Taliban detainees' will. The ministry said: "No state can transfer another country's citizen to a third country and put restriction on their freedom."

The five detainees left Guantanamo aboard a U.S. military aircraft flying to Qatar, which served as go-between in the negotiations. They are to be banned from leaving Qatar for at least a year. Among the five: a Taliban deputy intelligence minister, a former Taliban interior minister with ties to the late al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden and a figure linked by human rights monitors to mass killings of Shiite Muslims in Afghanistan in 2000 and 2001.....snip~

U.S. concluded in 2010 that Bergdahl walked away

Currently its a party time in Qatar. Especially with this Intel guy out back on the grid.

You know Johnny Quest McCain and I don't see eye to eye on much. But he got this one Right.....All the way. I keep saying it.....we don't have to worry about these top 3 heading back to the battlefield.

    They decide the battlefield.

Who is the outcome better for? Besides Iran, that is.

Also, Afghanistan is in far better shape than Iraq. Afghanistan is almost liveable in its current state.

Don't put on the uniform if you're not prepared.

Regarding the price paid in terrorist captives, that's also not Bergdhal's responsibility. Blame Obama on that one, if you want.
No, Bergdahl doesn't get off that easy. He created the situation that led to the loss of American lives and the release of dangerous terrorists.

Afghanistan has degenerated into a heroin mecca. I guess if it doesn't matter where the money comes from then, yes, Afghanistan is doing great.

Oops! Looks like Bergdahl left behind a written confession...

if that is the case ( still skeptical on the evidence and circumstances) then he should go to court, however that doesnt change the fact that they had to try and rescue him.

"Rear Adm. John F. Kirby, the Pentagon spokesman, said that there was a larger matter at play: The American military does not leave soldiers behind. “When you’re in the Navy, and you go overboard, it doesn’t matter if you were pushed, fell or jumped,” he said. “We’re going to turn the ship around and pick you up.”

Perhaps this is where Joe the Plumber steps in and says, "The lives of your son's does not trump the necessity to recover our captured soldiers."
