Report: Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer submits NBA-record $2 billion bid for Los Angeles Clippers

Can't believe someone would pay 2 bill for the clippers. Deal needs to get approved but it should go through. Good luck to balmer. My guess is he moves the team to seattle.

NBA won't let him since they hate Seattle.

Balmer has already said he has no intention of moving the team to Seattle. If he buys it, it stays in LA. Since he retired from Microsoft he really has no ties to Seattle.

Probably a tax write-off for him.

Every owner says they have no intention of moving the team. Until they do.

He didn't retire, he was forced out. Gates told Fredo to go fish. He'd royally screwed up MS. Now he can do the same for the Clippers. Or maybe not, perhaps he's finally found his thing.

    Re: Seattle clippers

The dallas cowboys are worth $2.3 billion according to forbes. So the cowboys are worth $2.3 billion and clippers are worth $2 billion. I wonder if this deal will send all the stories franchises to increase in value.

    Re: Seattle clippers

Can't see the logic in moving the team, surely that would cause a big decrease in the value of the team?
