Ballmer? I suppose he wants to be like Paul Allen. I bet he will rename the team the Seattle Windows.
(I met Ballmer many many years ago, he's a dick)
OK fine, the LA Windows then...He will not move the team to Seattle.

Sterling bought the team for 12 million and sold it for 2 billion. His punishment for his racist remark is making nearly 2 billion dollars in profit.

Sterling's wife is selling it. I don't agree with sterling being forced to sell his team, but he is going to make a killing. His team was worth $500 mill and he is getting $2 bill. That is a nice haul. Just wondering what the capital gains tax bill will be for him,.
Report: Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer submits NBA-record $2 billion bid for Los Angeles Clippers

Can't believe someone would pay 2 bill for the clippers. Deal needs to get approved but it should go through. Good luck to balmer. My guess is he moves the team to seattle.
It would actually be a smart move to relocate to Seattle though, and rename them the Supersonics. The Clippers have always been third fiddle to the Lakers. A lot of people don't even know who the Clippers are, but everyone knows who the Lakers are. The Seattle Supersonics had a great fan base, and only lost their team because of politics and stadium one-upsmanship.
Allen has been a great owner with the Seahawks and the Sounders. Seattle deserves an NFL team. Heck, they can have our always broke hockey team while they are at it.
does she own the team? i didn't think she had a stake in the team? if she doesn't own 51% of it she can't sell.
California is a community property state. She owns half of everything he owns.
ok so she only owns 50% of the team i read another article on this.
the team belongs to the trust of which sterling is co-owner. that means any sale or anything else that comes out of the trust he has to approve.
according to the article he is not approving the sale.
so she can't sell the team without his permission.
50% is not 51%.
I was hoping Larry Ellison would get it. Guy has some serious dough...
The team couldn't ever win with all the viruses they would get.Wow, imagine how hard they would be to clean.

Except, according to the NBA by-laws, which he agreed to abide by, the NBA can force him to sell the team. He's out. It may take a while as he engages in fruitless court challenges, but he's done.
Actually, he didn't break any of the bylaws of the NBA constitution, so he would have a fight if he does go that route. But damn, $2 billion! He would be crazy to pass that up.
Actually he owns the Portland Trailblazers. He does not own the Seattle Sounders.
Despite the new arrangement, Seahawks owner Paul Allen’s ownership status has not currently changed, a Sounders spokesman told SI.com when reached via email for clarification. Allen, Microsoft’s co-founder, was instrumental in bringing MLS to Seattle.
