State Department urges Americans to leave Libya Immediately.....

Just when Libya was actually becoming a nice place, Obama F's it up.

Did those 112 cruise missiles on day one of the unwarranted attack, and what followed, do any good to the world?

Heya LOP. :2wave: So with all this going on today. How do you think this makes BO look with anything he says about Libya or Benghazi? What about the State Dept?

Remember BO just mocking Benghazi at one of his fundraisers a few nights ago. Notice.....you don't see BO laughing to much now.....huh?

My views on president Obomba have changed little since I first heard him speak. When he joined the UN in attacking Libya a few years back, I was absolutely appalled. His actions never surprised me since. I'll bet the UN would have never done such a attack without us. Libya was becoming a first world nation, and I think the elitists who control our global first world governments were afraid.

Granted, Libya had its share of criminal rebels, who Gaddafi kept under control with force, but they were few in numbers. This action is more forceful that what president Carter did in the late 70's, which put The Ali Khamenei and Saddam Hussein in power. Both these nations were better before the intervention of a US liberal president. But war is bad liberals say. However, when they think the government it too harsh on their people, we must do nation building. Just ask any liberal, and look where it gets us. The problem is, we take steps based on our culture, without really understanding the implications on their culture.

I really feel for the good people of Libya who just want to go about their day to day lives. Both Iran and Iraq were once world class nations as well, but western culture didn't understand theirs, and had to improve it... Wow...

Yeah, I have been keeping an eye out to see if they go to evacuate the Embassy in Tripoli. Already many others are closing their from the West and vacating.

Check that.....we are preparing to evacuate and take care of any Business we need to.....to get our people out if necessary. US Marines are mobilizing as we speak. Hu-ah.

Marines and sailors with Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Crisis Response conduct helicopter rope suspension training from an MV-22B Osprey at Morón Air Base

A Marine crisis-response team has deployed additional aircraft to Sicily as it awaits orders for a possible evacuation of American officials in Libya.

Seven Ospreys and three KC-130s from an air base in Spain have been positioned at U.S. Naval Air Station Sigonella, Pentagon spokesman Rear Adm. John Kirby told reporters Tuesday. Another Osprey would soon be arriving, the Pentagon said.

About 180 Marines and sailors with the team were moved last week with six aircraft from Morón Air Base in Spain; there are now 250 Marines there. The move was in response to growing concerns over militia battles in northern Libya and their proximity to Americans at the embassy in Tripoli. Several countries, including Saudi Arabia and Algeria, have already closed their diplomatic missions in Tripoli. <<<<< !

Kirby said there have been no requests for assistance from the Marines in Sigonella. But if called on to help with evacuations of U.S. diplomatic personnel or other requirements, he said the team is “in a posture and in a location that should they be needed in North Africa, specifically Libya, that they would be ready to do so.”

The battles in Libya come after fighters loyal to a former regime general and later rebel leader attacked Islamist militias in the eastern city of Benghazi and the parliament in Tripoli. The general, Khalifa Heftar, has long opposed the Islamist groups that have dominated the country’s east since the 2011 ouster of the Moammar Gadhafi regime. Other militias and groups have mobilized and vowed support for each side since the fighting began on Friday, leading to concerns that the violence is more serious than the skirmishes common between groups in recent years.....snip~

Apparently its a "exercise mission" that has been in the works for a while. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yT-hy-f1MVM

The Libyans.....I am thinking of those in the Parliament. Unless it was the General sizing up what he was going to attack.

Have you noticed that where ever Obama has left his footprint in the world, it has turned into a basket case ?

Heya Apache. :2wave: Well here with Libya.....there was no end game and we are seeing the results. Not only are we paying the price. But this is what happens when you let them the enemy in the door.

If State Dept would have never hired Ansar al Sharia as Security for our people in Benghazi.....a lot of this could have been avoided. Now they know where our safehouses are. CIA and any others are compromised. They know where the weapons are stored and the how we are moving them out of Libya.

Was Carter this incompetent?

Obama has Carter beat by six lengths.

And Carter knows it and so does Obama and Obama is wearing blinkers.

You heard what he said with his Foreign Policy speech.....BO says he is an interventionist and a Internationalist. I have it up in a thread but the left didn't want to talk about that comment.

Some of Obama's closest buds back during his college days said that Obama didn't look at himself as being an American but as an internationalist.

This was all brought out back in 2008 but the MSM gave Obama a complete past on it and 52% of the Americans went to the polls not knowing anything about Obama's past.

Obama looks at the world and sees it in his own vision, not as it really is. That's what makes Obama a national security risk for America.

Well at least Kirby was up on this.....hopefully he will make sure BO and the rest of his team. Don't make the same mistakes again. Hagel can't be counted for much of anything.

I would say it's a tossup between Obomba's and carter's incompetence.

We simply should have left Libya alone. Gaddafi was doing no harm in the world. he was only killing those trying to overthrow his government. I think the UN world leaders were afraid he would unite much of Africa. Can't be having another continental superpower now, can we?

The UN was scheduled to award Gaddafi for recognition for all of the improvements he had made just not in libya but North Africa.

Gaddafi became an American ally in 2003 and joined America waging war against Al Qaeda and Islamist extremist.

The French Frogs :blah: convinced Obama to throw another ally under the bus.

The Saud and the Sunni didn't like him running around and calling for a United States of Africa.....plus he was a pain for them with OPEC. Still.....we are seeing the other Berber tribes not accepting any rule by those backed with the MB and Sunni.

Yep Apache.....it was the French. They even tricked Susan Rice when she was UN Ambassador. Then came out and Officially acknowledged the Rebels and the New Interim Government.

Remember after they told Gadhafi to step down. BO then told him he had to go.....Bilbo Clinton even sent a Message to him to take the deal they offered. As like Selah from Yemen. They were going to give him Immunity.

Yep. I agree, but it wasn't only the French. Obama is either allied with the extremist Islams of Arab Spring, or he really had the wool pulled over his eyes by them. Either way, his actions are not excusable at all.

Yeah, but it was the French that ran into the UN filing the resolutions and for Enforceable action.....it was the French that made up he the BS about him killing his own people. Then the MS media all started talking about all those he would put standing out and around his home and military installations.

There wasn't any footage of Gadhafi killing his own people or committing genocide. That's not to say he was some sort of good guy ever. But he did control that region. Which any MB, Saudis and Sunni Arabs.....were always watched and dealt with.

I agree. Gaddafi was far from a saint. However, over his years, as he matured, he probably became the best leader ever of a Muslim nation. He kept the extremists in check and the nation was prospering.

Yeah those Berbers have always been a thorn in the Sunni and the Saud's side. Hopefully the Berbers will take back whats their and keep that thorn twisting and digging deeper.

Just another stellar example of failed leftist foreign policy. They have treated terrorists like victims of oppression instead of the hateful jackasses they are and it is getting more dangerous all over the world because of it.

Yeah, because we're not killing terrorists on the reg. "Treating them like victims?" What?

Why do so many conservatives live in fantasy land?

the 2 are not mutually exclusive and oppression is not limited to terrorists

Hillary Clinton has responded to this by saying "What difference does it make now, so go ahead an remain in Syria, I will see to it you are protected".

Heya RF. :2wave: Well and she will make one phone call to them.....then never check back to see if any make it out alive. Now who wants that type of person for a President. or a Secretary of State.

Best leader ever of a Muslim nation? Good grief. He fomented war and upheaval across the African continent, armed terrorists and paramilitaries from Sudan to Ireland, a massive Stasi-esque secret police force to keep tabs on political opponents, numerous torture dungeons, one of the most censored free speech deprived countries on the planet, a murderer of critics both domestically and overseas, a butcher of prisoners, cultivator of an enforced personality cult, and was a tyrannical depriver of basic liberties.
