UPDATE: Pay-To-Pee Teacher Faces No Discipline[W:146]

You can't trust a child to decide what is a potential medical emergency. Nothing more, nothing less.

Conflict of interest isn't relevant to me when it's a child's well being, especially if that child happened to be mine.

Keep your child at home. There are home schooling options. If the school isn't good enough for your precious genius that never tries to scam the teacher, then don't waste the teachers time.

You are being completely irrational and selfish. I think parents who criticize teachers for trivial things should be hung up by their arms and horsewhipped in front of all the other parents. Stop dumbing down our children with your lack of respect for education. Go teach your kid to climb a tree or something.

If you want dumb kids, that's fine but the whole nation doesn't have to be dumb. That isn't fair to anybody.

Considering that both of the 'big two' are pretty much identical in terms of how little the follow the Consitutiton and care about the people and how much their care about themselves and those that contribute big money to them, yes, I do not have a side. I think for myself, each issue is independent of other issues. You should try it some time, that is, if you were capable of such a thing. :lamo

But let's be realistic, I threw in some sarcasm, you were not smart enough to get it, and you called it 'being partisan' when there was nothing partisan in it. You just wanted to go on the attack and failed miserably. But you are used to that eh?

The guy with a Republican joke about a Democrat is pretending to be non-partisan. Debate Politics has seen this before. ;)

Are we truly becoming this stupid, to let little kids pee in their pants because we can't find a different way to teach?
If they're abusing bathroom breaks, they can be cut back without humiliating them.

I would demand a letter of apology to my child from this teacher -- or I would never let her attend that class again. Just imagine.

Your example of a child going to the bathroom 25 times has zip to do with this token system the teacher came up with for his/her students.

I doubt that. I'm sure that is exactly why the teacher came up with this system.

I'm confused. Did this never happen to a kid while you were going to school?

When leveling an insult, it's often best to get the user name correct.

It's only charging by way of classroom currency or a limited number of classroom permissions. The error from the instructor was tying these permissions to rewards like pizza, candy, or popcorn. I would even be hesitant to tie it to bonus points or having it counted against classroom participation points (not that I would necessarily argue that that is inherently bad practice). This may, in fact, be reflected in a second pending review or what was discussed behind-the-scenes with administrator and instructor. The concept of limiting the number of non-emergency bathroom uses through a system is not tyrannical or abusive and is commonly practiced.

don't be a teacher. otherwise you will have parents in your office about you letting kids pee in their pants.

You're just a Democrat hating, Republican hating -

There are a lot of people like this. They hate every person and they hate everything. It's very sad but the only think you can do is roll your eyes and wonder what bad things they say about you.

That is not very insightful or relevant to the topic at hand.

It's a bit more insightful than any of your posts on the subject have been so far.

The guy with a Republican joke about a Democrat is pretending to be non-partisan. Debate Politics has seen this before. ;)

Awe, poor you. It's all right little guy, everything will be ok. It doesn't change that fact that now you are just making crap up. How about you cut your losses and discuss the topic? LOL.

fiddley is an idiot as well.

I can see limiting use as they will be up all the time, but charging students to go to the bathroom is stupid.
as i said we take kids away from parents for allowing them to run around in wet or dirty diapers. where is child protective services removing this teacher for letting kids wet themselves.

what is worse is that it will get around school and then they will start being called names.
this goes far beyond having wet pants.

Do you even know how to read??? Its not about paying to use the restroom its about keeping some semblance of order. And oh by the Fiddey and I didn't say let the kids piss and crap their pants. Reading comprehension is not your strong suit obviously.

I always accept insults as an academy award. My stupidity will never exempt you from your responsbility to make a coherent argument.

This goes for the stupidity of other people too. You still have to make a point. You can't just avoid it by making an insult. I accept your insult as valid. Now what?

I'm confused. Did this never happen to a kid while you were going to school?

Why would you be confused? No, it never happened to me. But I was humiliated by a teacher in a somewhat similar incident when I was a freshman in high school.

What do you suggest to keep control of 20 some kids from disrupting the class excessively? My recommendation is pretty old school, use the bathroom pass as has been used since there were schools. If you have a better idea share it.

It happened to a girl when I was in first grade. I'm just surprised that there is somebody out there that didn't witness this happen as a child. This is fairly common.

It looks like there are more posters wetting their pants in this thread than there were kids wetting their pants in that classroom

Nah. Just let someone else make decisions, then criticize every single one of their decisions. It's easier that way.

Your father sounds like he is/was a good man. Did the dean paddle you literally or figuratively?

Literally, with a 2'x8"x2" piece of wood, with holes and a handle. He had foot prints drawn on the floor to put your feet in, and my ass was almost numb by the 3rd swat.

Is there some indication that these kids used the bathroom excessively? Do you use the bathroom excessively if you have a medical problem? Do they? They had to have play money to use the bathroom. When's the last time you asked where the bathroom was and somebody asked you for ten bucks?

They should use bathroom passes...that's what gives a student the okay to be in the hallways during class-in-session time. But they should be handed out discretely and immediately. If someone's taking advantage? A note from the doctor. If they can't do that? A meeting with the parents. Whatever. But NEVER refuse a child's request to use the john, for God's sake.

I never had it happen to me and never witnessed it. Sure wasn't "fairly common" as far as I was concerned.

;) I wouldn't expect anybody to admit to that. :angel?:

Why? Like you know who I am? Here's what did happen. I began menstruating in class. I didn't have the exact change necessary to get a sanitary napkin from the vending machine in the girl's bathroom; so I waited for an opportunity, went up to the male teacher when students were just beginning to settle down after entering the room, and asked if he had change for a dollar.

"Oh, myyyyyy!!!!!" the asshole said, "We have a young lady who needs change!! Can anyone help?? What do you need it for, Maggie??"

If I can tell THAT story, I can surely admit I peed my pants, Vasude.

:bs unless you were home schooled or had 5 kids in your class.

Are you calling BS because I never witnessed anyone peeing their pants in school?? Or never saw a teacher refuse a bathroom pass?? I never saw either one.

There's something wrong with you...or maybe something wrong with the school you went to.

Check out the other posts that Fiddey and I made it will make sense where we are coming from and what we are saying, Fiddey's in particular I am just playing chorus in this debate. This particular teacher made a mistake in tying bathroom passes/access to a reward system it should be separate.

And yes I have been asked for money to use a facility its somewhat common in California on the coast at gas stations. Annoying as hell.
