Dictated by nothing more than ruthlessly cold logic.
The first law states that Energy can be niether created or destroyed.
The second law of thermodynamics states in any closed system a process proceeds in a direction that the unavailable entropy increases.
From order to disorder while energy changes or the Universe cools or experiences what's called "Heat death".
So if the Universe is a closed system there was a beginning, The Big Bang and there will be an end.
Our Universe with everything it including energy started from literally nothing, which violates the First law of thermodynamics.
Energy cannot be created, but out of nothing an event started that led to the creation of a exponential amount of energy.
And a beginning WITH creation points to a creator more than it does a random event.
Atheist really try to justify their beliefs with a poor understanding of scientific principles.
When it comes down to it they rely on Faith to make the claim that there is no God while they critique those who have Faith in a Creator.
I have mixed feelings about SETI.
Its clear they want funding, but I don't see how their work could lead to anything practical.
Whats the pay off for detecting a intelligence many many Light years away ?
Ok, if we DID detect a signal created by a intelligent life force and then somehow decoded it so we could then communicate whats the pount if that signal originated 4 million Light years away ?
