Who got $$ from Brunei's Islamic law government? The Clinton Foundation | Fox News

So Fox notes the altruistic clintonias took between $1-$5m from the sharia following Brunei. The same Brunei that Hollywood just protested by boycotting a hotel they own. So will Hollywood boycotts the clintonista's? Yeah we all know the answer to that one.

I do find it interesting the donors have been removed and aren't on their web site now.....OOOPs....did Hilda make that call?

 Not much of a news story to be frank.

"The Foundation received a one-time donation from the government of Brunei in 2002. We have not received any additional donations from them since, and we do not expect any in the future," the statement said.

If she did, she made the right call. Brunei just emplemented strict pregnancy, anti-adultry, anti-sodomy laws. Do you have a problem with them returning the money...why?

My guess is that the motives are suspect.

Although the story isn't that big of deal, since the donations were given prior to Brunei adopting Sharia Law, and the fact that the Clinton Foundation does great things around the world with the money they get... your snarky question has absolutely nothing to do with what he said, and is actually more ridiculous than getting upset by the fact that the Clinton Foundation got money from a barbaric person.

The questions here are - did they give the money back once Brunei passed the draconian laws and, will Hollywood protest the Clinton Foundation if they don't or haven't like they did the hotel?

That is the point of the OP, the way I read it.

Which are a valid questions. But as the OP says, we already know the answer to that. Just another example of a double standard, and how the left will give the Clinton's a pass (which you proved by your response - thanks for that BTW).

The money was donated and then the place changed. Now I don't know much about Brunei culture and I would have to look at how Sharia law is being implemented as there are different schools of thought on that. Sharia, despite the right wing noise machines ignorance, is not one thing.

As for my snarky comment....well it is snarky because the analogy to the hotel situation would be like holding someone accountable for staying at the hotel being boycotted BEFORE the law changed. I hope Clinton gives the money back. I like when non-profits do that when the source is dirty in some way. I have done it as a member of Executive Boards of non-profits though never at that level. But I don't think that it is hypocritical to have spent the money for good in the past and just not take their money moving forward.

Extremist right wingers just need something to get upset about today.

Partisan hackery and hypocrisy at its best. Liberals embrace abortion/same-sex marriage and condemn those who oppose their views.

Yet find it a non-issue when those who practice Islamic law have harsh penalties for it; especially when the donor contributes millions to a high profile liberal politician.

The change would make adultery, abortion and same-sex relationships offenses punishable by ancient methods -- flogging, or even stoning.

I said that.

To be clear, I don't have a problem that they took the money. As I said, if you read it, was that the Clinton Foundation does great things for people all around the world. So in a way, they cleaned the money. I don't think they should give the money back either. Why? Because they probably put it to good use to help people.

The point of the OP that I agreed with, was that the Hollywood crowd would never protest the Clinton's, yet probably should at least ask for an accounting short of demanding that the Clinton's give it back. In other words, it's about the double standard here.

But, to repeat for clarity, I don't think they should give it back. In fact, if they could get Billions from the guy, great - they could help a hell of a lot of people with that money. I do also think that the lefties protesting the Sultan should ask for an accounting from the Clinton's for nothing more than to attempt to maintain legitimacy of their position- even though it would be a futile exercise because funds are fungible.

Now... as to Sharia Law... you need to do a little more personal research as to what it really is. There's no possible way for anyone to lessen what the true impact of Sharia Law is on a population or to describe it in any way other than as a horrific and brutal draconian system. We're not talking about Muslim based Law, but Sharia Law.

If people who later became ****heads donated money to a good cause, what exactly is the problem with spending that money on a good cause?
