Fast-food workers kick off global labor action

You would, cause you never look in a mirror.

I have a high tech, skilled job that requires training, experience and is in demand. I make averaged out 16.3 an hour.

How is flipping burgers commensurate with my job in terms of demand, skills or results?

Also, why should private companies, investors and yes consumers over pay for labor?

So your in favor of social programs now? Why are you waging "class war"?

You know, they can protest all they want, the value of their work will never be $15p/hr. If they get that money, then something's gotta give somewhere else. The left just wants to keep their blinders on, and ignore that fact. You can't just create an artificially imbalanced situation and expect it to stay that way without consequences.

Again, youre saying ban labor unions. That suggests govt action. Im saying deregulate them. Its a minor difference, but same result.
You are continuously reading what is not there.
I did not say ban them.
If you want to discuss something, pay attention.

So long as youre not suggesting govt action, we dont have a problem here.

Why don't you actually read what has been said.
Then there would be no confusion on your part.

Get over it.

Your the one that needs to get over the correction.
Stop misreading/attributing and I am sure there will be nothing point it out.

Since when did so many abandon the free market? Flipping burgers is now a profession? When did this happen? Is the economy in every nation that bad that this is now a career path? When I was growing up it was kids and "special" people working at fast food joints. Learning responsibility, saving money, etc. Sorry, a career in flipping burgers and fries is not worth $15 an hour. What skills do you need for that job? They can't even spread the pickles out properly, they just pile everything in the middle.

$15 an hour is for associate degree skill level, not high school dropout skill level. So are all these socialists calling for raises for every other profession also? Is it fair to the people who spent the money and time to get an associates degree to have the same pay as a burger flipper? So lets raise everyone's wages in every profession by over 100%. That ought to be fair right? Ridiculous, the whole damn "civilized" world is ridiculous. No long term thinking applies anymore. Selfish attitudes of instant gratification took over at the expense of the future. We should be ashamed. Everything is NOT equal in the real world, or have we forgotten that there are always winners and losers? Not everyone is a winner.

On the bright side, now maybe fast food chains will start dying out when the price of products goes up. I say products because it is barely food. Employers NEVER eat the cost. Their margins MUST go up. So you know who the costs will be passed to if this happens. So should we also freeze price increases? The free market is pretty much dead. The joys of short-sighted thinkers and unintended consequences.

I said, get over it.
Do you think I care what you say at this point?

This should be called the "Really Stupid People's Strike."
No matter the outcome, it will end very badly.

I will agree that those on strike will likely not get everything that they want right now.

But that doesn't mean that there will not be change eventually.

It's government that's caused this to happen.
How do you propose employees combat the might of the government?

A good start would be voting in people who support their ideas and voting those who oppose their ideas out.

It's called democracy and it has worked all over this planet.

Voting doesn't mean **** till we affect real election reform.

Precisely. Who cares if those young folks and those with two jobs are out of work, right?

It would be due to their own actions, wouldn't it?

If they are too dumb to see the consequences of what there push for, them maybe they deserve to get what they want. And no crying allowed when it happens.

It means a good bit to the winners and those who support them.

The losers go home and the winners go to Washington,D.C.

Yes. And these days, no matter WHO wins, the commoners of this country lose.

Move on?
I have no need to move on from my position.

It was obvious that I was speaking about any labor force that a union is attempting to unionize.

You can do anything that is legal, to prevent unionization. Such as lobbying the employees not to form a union.
