I think that is the most likely. It sounds like Mrs D is the instigator

I haven't seen any article that reports anything except what the girl said. And she did not say anything about her dancing inappropriately, What she did say is that Mrs D (the chaperone who also checked her dress *before* she even entered the prom) told her that she had complaints from the men who thought her dancing was causing them to have "impure thoughts"

Men do not have to see a girl dance inappropriately in order to have impure thoughts. As a man, I know that is not required.
I posted the link to the teen's sister's blog in Post #16. She wrote that the woman said that some of the men had expressed concern that the dancing might arouse impure thoughts IN THE TEEN BOYS.

This is sounding more and more like a case study in teen drama and media hype and misinformation.

We don't know much about what really happened (I mean maybe that wicked woman had it out for Cinderella), but somebody read the blog post too carelessly, ran with the story, and various outlets picked it up and repeated the sensationally incorrect dirty-old-men thing.

Yea... By chance, would any of you be interested in buying some swamp land in Florida? I know a guy who can get you a great deal.
Did you even bother to research and see if the story was available from other sources? Somethings tells meeeeeeeee .......... no.

I guess not. You don't even have to go to the beach. Booty shorts will cause all kind of impure thoughts. At least they do in me.

You'll pardon me if I find myself disinclined to take a pissed-off teenagers' word for anything, without more solid evidence to back it up... especially when it sounds excessively dramatic on the face of it.

The only source they linked was some teenager's (obviously meant to be inflammatory, given the 'F*ck the Patriarchy' title) blog. Frankly, even then, they played up the drama pretty considerably.

As far as the credibility of the girl in question is concerned, I believe Goshin has already said pretty much everything that needs to be said here.

In all likelihood, the girl wasn't tossed out for any reason relating to her dress or the inappropriate sexual inclinations of the more "mature" men around her. She was probably simply getting out of hand with her dancing, asked to tone things down a bit by one of the chaperones as such, and then proceeded to make a defiant scene instead, which prompted her to be asked to leave.

Interesting. I didn't see that mentioned in the original article.

Well, let's see now. It was in the OP:

Despite wearing dress code-appropriate clothing to the Richmond Homeschool Prom, Clare Ettinger reports she was removed from the dance for homeschooled teens because she aroused “impure thoughts” in some of the adult male chaperones.

So, what did you read? My post? I mean I can see missing it . . . but after someone calls it to your attention, you still miss it? Have you been drinking Bloody Marys like me??
