X DARPA Director & Google Exec Pushes Microchipping Human Beings

They probably won't make it mandatory; too many people would outright rebel.

Instead they'll cook that frog slowly.... in 20 or 30 years, it will be almost impossible to get by in the modern world without an ID implant, and then they will have you.

If you don't think the tech will be abused to your detriment, look into your webcam and chant "NSA" three times... :D

The real Hunger Games coming soon.

The ones who are going to go full nutball over it don't care about drug user privacy. There are enough who will utterly flip out over the chip, though, that it's pretty unlikely to catch on, at least for a few generations.

I doubt it. If it means the difference between taking a job you really love with a chip implant and a job you really hate without a chip implant then people are going to take the job they love with a chip implant. If it means the difference between a high wage job with a chip implant and a low wage job with no chip implant then people are are going to take the high wage job with a chip implant. If it means the difference between being able to work any job with a chip implant and no job without a chip implant then people are going to work and have a chip implant. If you spent several years in college and a ass load of money on college then you are not going to throw that away just because you do not want to be chipped. Sure some people will refuse, but there will be a enough useful retards out there that will make this take hold of the private sector and Uncle Sam will do the same in exchange for you getting benefits, tax payer aid, entitlements and other services. So the solution is to nip this in the butt before the useful retards out there allow this horrible thing to take hold.

i don't see it happening within our lifetimes. i think the only chips that are going to be implanted will probably be to monitor medical conditions. there's just not enough public demand for an implanted credit card, and there's a LOT of opposition.

Oh hell no. These kind of assholes should be put in a pit and set on fire. Stop trying to track people assholes.

Would hate to see this be made mandatory, but I think it's a wonderful technology to be progressing as a potentialy volunteer basis.

No, it's something to be forgotten and never brought up again ever.

X DARPA director....now Google exec?

Suddenly my trust in Google just dropped a few notches.

I can't even imagine why you trusted Google in the first place. They have been interested in knowing as much about their users as possible for a long time now. They're assholes really.

It won't be just for credit cards.

FindLaw's Writ - Ramasastry: Outlawing Employer Requirements that Workers Get RFID Chip Implants Why it's the Right Thing for States to Do, Although Current Statutes May Need Refinement
Cincinnati firm CityWatcher.com, a provider of video surveillance, monitoring, and video storage for government and business, has become the first in the nation to implant microchips under employees' skin as part of its overall security system. At the moment, only three CityWatcher.com employees, including CEO and founder Sean Darks, have the chips embedded under the skin of their forearms, which they swipe across a reader in order to gain access to the company's data center.

You guys have a very antiquated notion of what 'chip implant' means. The way some of you describe it, it sounds more like a bad 1980's sci-fi flick or the kind of message board paranoia that thrived in the 90's.

This is about the broader trend of merging biology and technology. Implants refers to everything from neural implants meant to correct, repair, or boost cognitive function, implants meant to allow thought based communication with computers and other technologies (already in therapeutic use), and a whole avalanche of possible uses that are just being unveiled today. Linking in to the digital economy is of course part of that trend but it's part of a much, much larger wave of development. It is exciting!

No, it is disgusting. People won't put up with it.

Goshin is correct, they'll cook that frog slowly. Wait till most of us over 40 who are untrusting, too old or gone, then tag and bag us.

Of course people will put up with it. It's already being rolled out and embraced. The limiting factor is the capability of the technology not its desirability. Never forget that what is strange and frightening to one generation is the new normal for the succeeding one.

An ex DARPA director and Google exec want to start putting implants into people, good idea? You might not be able to draw money or grocery shop without authentication and identification.

I think we all could see this coming with technology and gov't control increasing. Is it time to Microchip the human race? Though, I can already see the hackers finding ways of changing the identities. Where there's a lock, there's always a thief.

This **** is as inevitable as industrialization, smart phones and the next Transformers sequel.

Yes, I agree and it's not all bad but the potential for abuse of course is tremendous. I foresee a tab like device, attached to the temple, that interconnects people and their bio signature to a massive database or AI.

How about these pieces of **** who suggest that people ought to be microchipped be the first ones to volunteer and then supply everyone else with a app that can track their ass and see how long those people think its a good idea to microchip people?

I bet the useful retards will be idiotic enough to let the government and or their employer put something like that on or in them.

Not if we fight it and pressure our elected officials into banning this **** at the state and federal level. This should be nipped in the butt as soon as possible before hte useful retards out there allow it to take hold.Any bull **** excuse that degenerate scum might use for implementing such a thing must be ignored.
