I'm giving him a pass because what he did was when he was a child. Paula Deen is an elderly person who knows better. Huge difference, but you can't see it because you refuse to.

I'll believe that the "N" word is a word that black people really want to see removed from society when they themselves stop using it.

Why would I give David Duke a pass? He is an adult, and is a white nationalist, and a former Grand Wizard of the KKK. Why would I possibly give him a pass? If he did all this when he was a kid, and then stopped, of course I would give him a pass. I don't give passes to people who continue to act like this, on into adulthood.

Since its apparent that all the NBA owners are racists they should fine each other $2.5 million and every owner should have a lifetime ban from attending their own team games. Its only fair.
 
As a teen, god knows how he or his family was treated by white people (probably not too swell) that triggered such an emotional response. It talks of the show "Roots" which documents how whites enslaved his own kind.

I hated all heteros as a teen. That's how it goes when all you ever see from a particular group is negativity, rejection, violence, or at best passive indifference to your suffering. The difference is as an adult you can actually travel around and meet others who aren't such worthless trash haters themselves.

Ok by me. Why the hell do owners even exist? GMs should be able to handle it in the same way athletic directors do. In the pros, all profit, if any (several NBA teams got bailouts), should go to players and needed staff.

Racism born from anger is generally more easily dispelled than racism born from ignorance. Anger goes away. Ignorance often doesn't.

Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are racist as hell. Why do you give them a pass, too? They were adults then they displayed their racism.

Larry Johnson is an adult. You give him a pass. Why is that?

Because this was back when he was in ELEMENTRAY SCHOOL. As a CHILD. And is brought up in the book to explain how his parents ended up teaching him how to be a more inclusive and tolerant person.

While Paula Deen's saying of the "N" word was a "long time ago" it was still while she was an ADULT. That was also not the entire scope of what peoples issues with her was.
