I think it's pretty hypocritical, in terms of "the big picture", though of the AFA to call for boycotts of American companies potentially reducing their sales and causing American's to lose their jobs and then refer to a sticker in the window voluntary sticker in a window proclaiming that all will be served equally as "bullying".

As I wrote, it's funny how the big picture is so frequently ignored.

As to boycotts, they are a common tool of the left, so I'm not sure what the complaint is.

As to what the AFA is whining about, I don't really care.

It is not a matter of a business staying current, nor an identified niche market, but whether those businesses will be allowed unfettered access to that market? Let us say I form a PAC that is dead set against the color red, and we enact an internal bylaw that says we can create picket lines around any store selling anything red.

In this case, it is a gang of deluded bigots hiding behind a God who would have nothing to do with them, determining what a store can and can't do. If I want to run a bakery for only gay Chinese people with one leg shorter than the other who have killed a whale, I should be free to do so, and either score big or lose everything. If I want to create a business that sells to everyone but gay Chinese people with one leg shorter than the other who have killed a whale I should also be able to do so.

Perhaps a store in this town with a sign that read "We reserve the right not to sell to bigots" might wake them up. I would love to cover that lawsuit.
    Head of nail meet hammer.

If store owners want to be idiots, let the consumer be the judge of it's future.

However, demanding a pledge of allegiance? A very, very dangerous solution to a problem that would take care of itself.

Boycotts are also a common tool of the right. I'm not the one complaining about boycotts.

I'm simply pointing out the hypocrisy of an organization that has called for many, many boycotts in it's day in an attempt to damage businesses and put American's out of jobs and then they complain when sticker appears stating that all customers will be serviced equally and call that "bullying".

    Moderator's Warning:
Enough of the name calling, baiting and personal attacks. Either discuss the topic, which is not each other, or you will be dealt with.
Welfare (Food Stamps, WIC, etc...) are not entitlements. They are taxpayer funded handouts and shouldn't be called entitlements at all. Social Security and Veteran's benefits are 'Entitlements' because the people receiving them are entitled to them. They were earned and paid for by the recipients.

    That's what I think.
And in the real world, both business owners and customers are showing their displeasure with the new laws enacted in MS that allow discrimination based on "religious belief".
Also in the real world, people use a large variety of reason in determining where to spend their money, discrimination or lack thereof is just one of those reasons.

Quit with the hyperbolic statements, no one is "demanding a pledge of allegiance". Businesses are free to display a sticker stating they choose to serve all equally - or not, the choice is solely theirs.

My point has been on the issue of stickers, not on what the AFA is claiming.

I don't know how to be clearer.

yeah, that pledge business was very effective for Hitler's Nazi's, Stalin's reds, and every penny ante dictator that has ever come down the pipe.

We pledge to dismantle the US Constitution in order to form a society of morally pure people, enforcing that moral code of conduct, that not all men have a right to the pursuit of happiness, just people who agree with us.

Look at history and note how often that has worked.

No one is demanding anything. Businesses are CHOOSING to put a sticker in their window. The vast majority of the stores in MS do not have a sticker in their window. Only 2 stores in my area do. If I were to only shop at stores with a sticker, I could have flowers, and boutique clothing. No food, no gas, no hardware, etc.

You are making this a much bigger deal than it is, just like the AFA.
