I don't often change my signature, but this was just too over the top to let anyone forget with what this country is up against...

I serve honorably in the military, abide by the law, pay my taxes and participate in the political process. Surly those are behaviors of a patriotic citizen.

All you have to do is read the multitude of explanations that are given every time someone posts an OP about it. Everything has been covered, it's too expensive for what you get, I can get a top line pistol for what this piece of junk costs, and that's before the wristwatch is even built into the price. If a person doesn't have the watch when they need the gun, they are likely dead. The electronics can fail, they can also overheat and fire off a round indiscriminately, anyone with an RFID blocker can disable the firearm.

AsJerry pointed out, one MAJOR problem is the firearm will always be in "active" mode while the watch is close so that means you can have a negligent discharge without actually being negligent, and, as well, the batteries could go dead when you need the firearm, and there is also(as Jerry pointed out) a potential unintended consequence of people getting away from long held safety practices which will cause more injuries rather than less.

Have you been paying attention to the people who know this subject? The thing is universally hated by the main consumer base, firearms purchasers.

About half their funds come from manufacturers. So what? The other half still comes from millions of members. You wield that goofy statement like it is supposed to amount to something. Big deal. If you are actually sincere in your desire to save lives, the alcohol lobby way outspent the NRA last year. Is that a bad thing considering their products (alcohol) costs the US exponentially more in medical costs and tragedy?

That's called anecdotal evidence and I don't how you expect to prove that on a forum.

And that's fine. (well, it's not fine) The argument is not whether the smart gun works or not. The argument is over the absolutely vile treatment this woman is receiving.

That is absolutely true. I think personally she made a piss poor business decision, but it's hers to make and she should be left alone to succeed or fail with it.

I agree. Unfortunately, there are already some idiots in elected office who want to try for laws mandating these pieces of junk.
