    Re-read what I said 'Russia's status as a major arms exporter has declined since the fall of the Soviet Union due to the collapse of client states.'. From being the armory of the entire Warsaw Pact, North Korea, Ethiopia, Iraq, Egypt, and vast swathes of Africa to what it is now is a massive decline. The amount of countries dependent on Russian arms imports has dramatically dwindled and they are largely replaceable.

    And my point was that its STILL one of the largest arms exporters on earth.

    What exactly has Russia done to warrant this latest round of sanctions? According to the OP source they are specifically in response to...

    "Destabilizing activities". Sounds like a deliberately vague term tossed out there to avoid calling out specific actions. Actions which we, perhaps, are just as guilty of?

    Nah... couldn't be.
