Sarah Palin: 'Waterboarding Is How We'd Baptize Terrorists' If I Were In Charge

Actually no one said he could, it was the rest of the region he was destabilizing. Even Iran has no vehicle to attack us with.

Vice President Speaks at VFW 103rd National Convention

Dick Cheney, in a speech to 103rd national VFW convention, Aug. 26, 2002

Simply stated, there is no doubt that Saddam Hussein now has weapons of mass destruction. There is no doubt he is amassing them to use against our friends, against our allies, and against us.

Emphasis mine.

Hitting a base overseas of ours is just as much "us" as anything. But I am sure you can read the mind of VP Cheney.

Iraqi Drones May Target U.S. Cities | Fox News

Colin Powell, in his presentation to the UN Security Council:

"UAVs outfitted with spray tanks constitute an ideal method for launching a terrorist attack using biological weapons," Powell said during his speech. "Iraq could use these small UAVs, which have a wingspan of only a few meters, to deliver biological agents to its neighbors or, if transported, to other countries, including the United States."

President Bush, Oct. 7, 2002, in Cincinnati:

"We've also discovered through intelligence that Iraq has a growing fleet of manned and unmanned aerial vehicles that could be used to disperse chemical and biological weapons across broad areas," Bush said in preparation for a congressional vote authorizing the use of force against Iraq. "We're concerned that Iraq is exploring ways of using these UAVs for missions targeting the United States."

why was Clinton at war with Iraq?... he carpet bombed over no fly zone violations..

There is a rather substantial difference between enforcing the no-fly zones and an outright invasion of the country.... a couple of useful metrics: enforcing the no fly zone did not lead to 100,000+ deaths nor did it cost $2 to $6 Trillion.

Colin Powell, in his presentation to the UN Security Council:president Bush, Oct. 7, 2002, in Cincinnati:

You really haven't done much investigating on this subject.

“[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq’s refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs.” — From a letter signed by Joe Lieberman, Dianne Feinstein, Barbara A. Milulski, Tom Daschle, & John Kerry among others on October 9, 1998
“Saddam’s goal … is to achieve the lifting of U.N. sanctions while retaining and enhancing Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction programs. We cannot, we must not and we will not let him succeed.” — Madeline Albright, 1998

“(Saddam) will rebuild his arsenal of weapons of mass destruction and some day, some way, I am certain he will use that arsenal again, as he has 10 times since 1983″ — National Security Adviser Sandy Berger, Feb 18, 1998
“The community of nations may see more and more of the very kind of threat Iraq poses now: a rogue state with weapons of mass destruction, ready to use them or provide them to terrorists. If we fail to respond today, Saddam and all those who would follow in his footsteps will be emboldened tomorrow.” — Bill Clinton in 1998
“In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including Al Qaeda members, though there is apparently no evidence of his involvement in the terrible events of September 11, 2001. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons. Should he succeed in that endeavor, he could alter the political and security landscape of the Middle East, which as we know all too well affects American security.” — Hillary Clinton, October 10, 2002

And everyone's favorite Democrat:
“The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retained some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capability. Intelligence reports also indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons, but has not yet achieved nuclear capability.” — Robert Byrd, October 2002

Most of us know that the majority of those deaths were Muslims killing Muslims.

Nobody is denying that there were Democrats who also touted Saddam's capabilities. But your strawman is noted and summarily dismissed.

If no one is denying that both Democrats, Republicans and foreign leaders understood there was WMD in Iraq. then what is your point in just quoting the US Sec of State, the Vice President, and the President??

They were the ones making the case that Iraq could his us here with them. You really should read the entire discussion before commenting.

Also, "understood"? More like "claimed."

Oh, brother. "Blame America First" crowd? Give me a break.

You aren't Blaming Americans First??? Why are you quoting Americans instead of the terrorists? Do you have any idea what they are saying?

Obviously they were not the only ones if you read the quotes I sent. If you need more quotes there are plenty more.

....which can happen when you topple a government in a war.... Of course, that misses (and thus distracts from) the point, which was the absurd assertion that Clinton was already at war with Iraq and Bush really didn't do anything different...

Obviously they were not the only ones if you read the quotes I sent. If you need more quotes there are plenty more.

None of the quotes you posted claim that Saddam Hussein had the capability to hit the United States with WMDs. Again, read the entire discussion before commenting next time, please.

In fact Hillary Clinton, among others, said that ignoring Saddam would effect America's security.

Obama watched or slept through 4 Americans being killed asking for help on a embassy. There, proof.

Obviously you didn't bother to read the comment I was responding to...
