Jessica Dutro, Mother Who Allegedly Thought Young Son Was Gay Before Murdering Him,

Re: Jessica Dutro, Mother Who Allegedly Thought Young Son Was Gay Before Murdering Hi

Can you see how this statement actually supports my position? If you have an isolated incident it's a tragedy, if you have a motive then it could feasibly be an ongoing threat (though I hope that mothers killing their children over being gays would be a very low repeating occurrence). If somebody crashes a plane into a populated area because he's sick in the head, as awful as that is it's a one time deal. But add to that a delusional motivation and you have repeating occurrences of one degree or another. See?

Repression can take many forms and levels. It doesn't require the extreme of murder and enslavement to live up to the standard of repression.

In one case we have an organized act or acts of aggression against the population in the other we have a nut who popped a gasket. There's a big difference.

With regard to repression....give me a break. The kind of repression you're talking about happens all the time in many different ways to many different people. Some choose to act differently to poor people, some to rich people, some to blondes, some to readheads, some to one kind of dress or another. It's not 'repression'. It's life.

But...that's my point. The motive makes the difference.

None of your examples are condoned (let alone enforced) by actual law. It is the state enforcing that repression that lends credulity and muscle to it, and thus making it particularly insidious.

Screwballs don't have a motive. They might have a trigger but that's a whole lot different than a motive.

Re: Jessica Dutro, Mother Who Allegedly Thought Young Son Was Gay Before Murdering Hi

Screwballs don't have a motive.
Why are you steering the debate away from the fact that her motive made it worse?

Are you aware that she regularly beat her other kids too? This woman was simply an abusive person. She didn't have a motive for what she did. All she did was make up reasons for the beatings.

And if you told me the motives for beating her other kids as well, that would make it worse too. If you go into mind reading mode, you're leaving terra firma.

Re: Jessica Dutro, Mother Who Allegedly Thought Young Son Was Gay Before Murdering Hi

It does matter, maybe not as to the time she has to serve but it does matter because insane opinions like "I can see my 4 year old child is gay because of how he/she walks talks" should be stamped out and should be a warning sign that the animosity towards homosexuality rather than acceptance is still a problem around the world.

No. "I should beat my 4 year old child" should be stamped out. The for (whatever) is irrelevant.

Re: Jessica Dutro, Mother Who Allegedly Thought Young Son Was Gay Before Murdering Hi

It does actually add to it, hard as it is to believe (not being sarcastic here).

The fact that you're serious is what makes it so disturbing.

Why?

.....

Can we be adults here? Nobody is suggesting that beating a 4 year old is anything less than utterly abhorrent.

Re: Jessica Dutro, Mother Who Allegedly Thought Young Son Was Gay Before Murdering Hi

Because you're admitting that you would be less appalled had the boy been killed for any other reason.

It's a sad commentary when child murders become gauged through the spectrum of political correctness.

It's no real stretch to assume, based on your comments, that you wouldn't be all that upset if this kid was killed because he was a white supremist. In your own words, "...because he was gay makes it worse"

Yes you are!

Yes you are!

You know, there are people on this forum who are as opposite my values as I can imagine, and I wouldn't accuse even them of thinking it's acceptable to beat a four year old. You need to take a time out.

You're the one who is placing different values on a childs life. I'm not the one that needs a time out, sport.

That isn't funny, apdst. Even for you this is low.

I'm not the one saying it, bro!

Really? Because it seems some here are more interested in making it a gay rights issue rather than what it is. A horrible instance of child abuse.

Or maybe the child abuse being horrific is the beginning assumption and they're moving from there. Did you ever consider that?

LOL, there's just no good in you, is there?

Re: Jessica Dutro, Mother Who Allegedly Thought Young Son Was Gay Before Murdering Hi

From what I've read of this story it sounds like the mother was looking for a reason. Gay worked but if not that she probably would have plugged something else in.

That's not the case here, and it wouldn't matter if it was. It's just another excuse to them to switch the conversation, Rahm tactics.

People need to focus, the American public seems to suffer mass ADD.

Part of the issue is that she felt that might be a good enough excuse......where would she get that idea.

I love how the anti-gay crowd who support people who call for the death of gays make excuses when someone takes them up on it.

I love how people take the horrific murder of a child and make it a gay issue. No, I don't love it.
