Repression can take many forms and levels. It doesn't require the extreme of murder and enslavement to live up to the standard of repression.

In one case we have an organized act or acts of aggression against the population in the other we have a nut who popped a gasket. There's a big difference.

With regard to repression....give me a break. The kind of repression you're talking about happens all the time in many different ways to many different people. Some choose to act differently to poor people, some to rich people, some to blondes, some to readheads, some to one kind of dress or another. It's not 'repression'. It's life.

None of your examples are condoned (let alone enforced) by actual law. It is the state enforcing that repression that lends credulity and muscle to it, and thus making it particularly insidious.

Screwballs don't have a motive. They might have a trigger but that's a whole lot different than a motive.

Are you aware that she regularly beat her other kids too? This woman was simply an abusive person. She didn't have a motive for what she did. All she did was make up reasons for the beatings.

It's a sad commentary when child murders become gauged through the spectrum of political correctness.

It's no real stretch to assume, based on your comments, that you wouldn't be all that upset if this kid was killed because he was a white supremist. In your own words, "...because he was gay makes it worse"

Really? Because it seems some here are more interested in making it a gay rights issue rather than what it is. A horrible instance of child abuse.

From what I've read of this story it sounds like the mother was looking for a reason. Gay worked but if not that she probably would have plugged something else in.

People need to focus, the American public seems to suffer mass ADD.

Part of the issue is that she felt that might be a good enough excuse......where would she get that idea.
