Cop Pulls Gun On Kids Building Tree Fort

But we don't have sovereign immunity. "The state" (in this example, cops and judges) are routinely prosecuted for wrongdoing.
There is sovereign immunity- any lawyer will tell you that. The only way it can be waived is that the government allows it, and that only happens in cases where there is a media outcry that it forces the government to waive it but its few and far between. And even then the cop himself will not be personally liable as the state will settle.

GA Personal Injury | Personal Injury & Government | Sovereign Immunity | Jason R. Schultz

In Georgia, sovereign immunity is defined as the protection under the law that prohibits an agent or agency of the government from being sued without their consent. It sounds ridiculous, but the bottom line is that you cannot sue the government unless it allows you to!

Show me evidence that the cops knew that they were responding to a complaint involving 11 year old boys building a tree house.

The complaint was filed because the kids were cutting the branches on a tree. Have you not realized it yet? They went to investigate the complaints a neighbor made about the kids cutting the branches on a tree. Or are you now telling us that they went to investigate a report where the "threat" wasn't identified? Part of the 911 report is IN THE VIDEO:

11-12YO - now what do you think that stands for?

No one has ever been shot by 11 or 12 year old boys, right?

And they were black, which makes them gun carrying demons, right?

No, it makes them 11 and 12 year old children, but the policeman doesn't know this. The officer had his gun drawn, but no one was shot or even tased. I really don't know what all the fuss is except for a reason to bitch about the police department.

He does know that, since he was told that.

Maybe the fuss is that a cop drew a firearm on a child.

Rightfully so, to bitch about them.

Do you think that the policemen would have come into their house and pulled a gun on them if they hadn't been destroying someone else's property?

Well, as we know with the Far Right, one white guy's tree is worth far more than the life of any black kid.

Yes, but it was a black kid. In some circles, that's not only understandable, it's required.

I'm not going to debate the merit of what you say except, who got shot?

Well. luckily the kid got out of the tree at the urgings of the foul-mouthed, gun waving thug wearing the badge. Had he not done so, undoubtedly you would be on here defending the thug and justifying the death of a black child.

Have a gun out when a cop walks up because you 'want to go home safe yourself' and you can bet that the cop will shoot you instead.

Bull**** rationalization by cops.

Well, we'll see. If you are correct then I imagine the policeman will be disciplined. Overall I'm just glad no one got hurt.

Officer "Dirty Harry" needs to have his badge shoved up his ass ...sideways...

So... what you're saying is that cops should from now on pull their guns out on every 11-12 year old they encounter. Yes? I'm just not sure what kind of argument you're making. That cops should pull out guns on every demographic that has shot at them or that cops should pull out guns on 11-12 year olds they encounter?

By that rationale, cops should be drawing on every conceivable demographic.

If they have to, in a reasonable situation then yes. Dont like it, do the job yourself. Or we can be like England and the un armed cops can watch a man be decapitated in the street while waiting for the armed cops. Your choice.

The only time Dirty Harry drew his gun on a kid was when Scorpio was behind the kid and took him hostage. Just saying. :2razz:

Because those are the only two options -- police state or mayhem.

No need to do it myself, or for him to do it himself. You see there are plenty of recruits and people ready to become recruits who can take this guy's place.

You keep acting like there are only 2 choices when it comes to police. Love them and everything they do or hate them and everything they do. Believe it or not, there is a middle ground. This cop did not act appropriately.

Nobody was actually decapitated in the street in England, and no unarmed policemen watched this claimed decapitation. Fusilier Lee Rigby was brutally murdered by being run down with a car and subsequently stabbed to death in a cowardly attack by Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale. After Rigby was unconscious (possibly dead,) Adebolajo struck several blow's to his neck with a meat cleaver (reported as an attempt at decapitation). The only witnesses were several passers by, including Amanda Bailey, Gary Perkins and Gil Hicks - there were no police officers present. After the attack on Rigby, the two assailants deliberately waited for the police, scaring off the public by pointing a gun at them.

Contrary to the claims of simply standing by and watching made by some Americans, the jury heard of the bravery of passers-by. CCTV footage showed one woman who stroked Rigby's lifeless body and others who talked to Adebolajo, despite him holding the cleaver.

Both Adebolajo and Adebowale were shot (but not fatally) by the armed response squad, before being given first aid by these same officers.

If you wish to justify your national firearms addiction, by all means do so using legitimate evidence and logic, but do not employ dishonest hyperbole at the expense of some other society.

Agreed.
