Cop Pulls Gun On Kids Building Tree Fort

Cameras. We have them on squad cars. Why shouldn't coppers wear them? That makes sense to me. I think it's probably past time.

Some cities are doing it and getting some interesting results

You tell me what kind of investigation should be done. It ought to take 30 minutes tops. Testimony from officer involved. Testimony from the kids. Testimony from any witnesses. I'd guess there were none. You can't destroy an officer's career simply on the testimony of a couple of (possibly) overly-dramatic kids.

"I unholstered my weapon and held it at my side until I knew what was going on." Sans any other independent witnesses or perhaps previously inappropriate conduct by the officer, if we don't take the word of the copper, we might as well close down the force.

On the flip.aide i have seen with my own eyes, more than once, cops factually lie in court. Knowingly, cynically.

Just taking their word for things isn't the best idea either. It's part of the reason LE/citizen relations are so bad

Because no kids have ever killed anyone ever. In fact, lets disarm all cops and disband all PDs so no "child" will ever have to show respect to a cop or follow a cops demands to stop what they are doing.

Better yet, lets drag every traffic stop out of their car at gunpoint and handcuff them facedown in the dirt.

That would be the safest way to do it.

I can't believe how ***** the cops are these days.

Shoulda spoken up when their politician bosses were escalating things with their stupid drug war. Thats where this **** started.

The flip.side is it eliminates officer discretion. They won't just be able to scare some kid then let them go if the camera catches the kid commiting a crime or confessing to one.

That said, it may be time. I've seen enough bs with my own eyes to justify giving it a shot.

Does not make all kids killers.

Based on your pathetic logic, bad cops make all cops bad.

Try again.

You ARE allowed in CA to proceed to a public place before stopping for a police car because some cop was raping women.

Till you strap on a gun, pin on a badge you really dont know what its like.

If they give you a gun, a baton, pepper spray and handcuffs your first day, you should expect some **** is going to go down.

(Carlos Mencia)

Shouldn't turn you into an instant *****.

But we don't have sovereign immunity. "The state" (in this example, cops and judges) are routinely prosecuted for wrongdoing.

One of our biggest issues is that we let people be cops who have no business being cops.

And when they **** up, departments sweep it under the rug.

I'd like to think it wouldn't do away with officer discretion. It wouldn't have to . . .

Technically, officers are supposed to arrest everybody they reasonably believe commited an arrestable offense. Its supposed to be prosecutors/courts who determine guilt or innocence.

Prosecutors want belt notches. Cities want ticket revenue.

So they probably won't allow discretion when cameras become common.

But some courtesy and less violence is probably worth the trade-off.

This happens all the time. Stupid cops letting power get to their heads. I can't stand the police.

Just the other day I was walking back to my car at the airport at around 2pm, when two police officers in a patrol car flashed their lights at me and came up to "talk." They wanted to know my name, what I was doing there, they asked questions about what kind of car I drove, where I lived, so on.

All while I was WALKING from the terminal to my car, in the AIRPORT PARKING LOT.... exactly what you're supposed to be doing.

Well, the officers didn't believe that I actually drove the car I do, so they followed me in their patrol car as I walked to my car, and they watched me get in to my car, and pull out of the lot. Funny thing is I was just coming back from Cancun.... I'm sure his 50k per year ass could never afford to go.

****ing cops.

Then just this weekend, I was at a bar with a young lady. 2am is closing time, and there were about 50 or so people still in the bar getting ready to leave. The cop shouted "let's go everybody," to which I responded "OK just one second" as I was getting this girl's number down.

The cop grabbed me by the collar and dragged me out of the building. I would have kicked his ass for that, but then I would be in jail.

Meanwhile, there were still 50 patrons in the bar, the only reason he did that to me was because I dared "backtalk" his proud ass.

This was at the Ritz Carlton. You know his ass couldn't afford to get a drink there.

I cannot stand cops.

whaa, whaa.

How do we know those kids weren't building that tree house to use a launch pad for drone rockets to wipe out Disneyworld?!
