OK pastor says he accidentally flooded Texas by praying too hard

Religious whackos are everywhere. I personally don't take anything any of them say to heart as I am not a practicing anything, but the Constitution protects people who have these beliefs, like this guy (did he confess to a crime here? I think he did!) or the radical Islamists who are convinced their malfeasants will be rewarded with 72 virgins in the afterlife.

Unfortunately...Allah left out a little snippet.

The virgins are male.

The Constitution protects him, but it also protects those of us who think this guy's an idiot.

I never said anything to the contrary. Do you think your right to call the guy an idiot is somehow being violated by anyone in particular?

Wonder if he's gathering 2 of every animal from that state too.

Apparently this guy believing that God is all powerful is unable or unwilling to hold back on how much rain he makes fall, or maybe the pastor thinks he can control God through how much he prays.

That pastor really thinks highly of himself.

He didn't leave it out, it was cut later on for the fun of it.

Why do you assume that makes a difference to them?

Well...it seems Allah has made it clear that there cannot be Muslim Fudge-Packers, so they better not piss off the big guy by doing the virgin but tango.

Depends on which Muslims you are talking about. Ayatollah Khomeini was said to teach that a mans friends were to be used for pleasure and women were for reproduction only.

According to the article it was the divorce decree from Baal that supposedly did it. I do not know where or when a marriage to Baal was entered in and to who but I guess one gets torrential rains from ending it.

Baal was a pagan god of seasons/harvest. so if you were a farmer and wanted it to rain then you would go to the temple of baal and sleep with the temple women and plead your case to baal in order to have a good rain season.

it is the reason that if you read most of the bible this was the one pagan god that israel struggled with the most. more so because the nothern part of israel was farm land.
so visiting the temple of baal was almost on the to do list even though it was forbidden. it was also close enough to others that worshipped so it was a few days journey to get there.

I have a friend of mine named Wolff Delong, who was Gene Kelton's bass player before Kelton died. He is part Native American. During the big drought in East Texas, he did a rain dance. A few days later, Houston was flooded. I like to kid him about that. LOL.

Send him over to the Texas Hill Country. We could use a flash flood or two.
