Re: Beijing hotel workers already 'fed up' with Obama entourage in 3400-square-foot,

And in China, barking is notably coarse.

It's actually quite common in China, or so Chinese people tell me.

How many Chinese people do you know? Most are quite polite and yelling (especially by a westerner and not in Mandarin or Cantonese) is seen as a "common" trait. We aren't talking about Fred Sanford here.

Lots? And yes, they made it clear that yelling wasn't admirable behavior, though it could still be quite common.

I'm having deja vu. Have we had this conversation before?

Obama Derangement Syndrome. You and all the likers have attained a level of silliness that is unusual and beyond reproach. This is the dumbest non issue I have ever seen people back on this site. The thought that the same people getting behind this think the Christie bridge scandal is a non issue, boggles the mind.

I dont think we have. In any case, is it appropriate behavior for the first ladies mother? What message do you think it sends to China?

I think this story is Snopes fodder any day now.

Could be, but I gather the Chinese have already formed their opinions. They fall for satire about as fast as the lefties here fell for the Palin plane to heaven.

Re: Beijing hotel workers already 'fed up' with Obama entourage in 3400-square-foot,

Michelle Obama is not in China on "vacation." It's a diplomatic tour.

In China, Michelle Obama calls for universal rights

She is there for a week so its clear there is vacation time in it. If she really just did a diplomacy trip she should have left as soon as she made her speeches.

Thank you for introducing the world to some of us.

Re: Beijing hotel workers already 'fed up' with Obama entourage in 3400-square-foot,

Government security forces from both China and the U.S. started Thursday to screen everyone who entered the building, including paying guests, setting up checkpoints that resemble those at airline concourse entrances.

Oh give me a break. Additional security is in place to assist with the safety and well being of President Obama and his family. As it should be. No one should have an issue with this.

Do you realize how stupid that sounds? She's allowed NO recreation time at all in a foreign country? Three cities in a week (which is what it was) is somehow too exorbitant?

The reality of the situation is, due to security concerns and personnel, all First Family trips are expensive. That's just the way it is. But the hypocrisy of the right these days, who gave quite frankly zero ****s about George and/or Laura's travel (and don't dare say that George only went to the ranch; he went overseas many times) is just stunning.

But hey, any port in a storm. I guess Obama must be doing a bang-up job if you guys are spending so much time whining about a hotel bill.

Re: Beijing hotel workers already 'fed up' with Obama entourage in 3400-square-foot,

So anyone who falls off a Segway has no class?

I'm pretty sure the guy who invented the Segway died by falling off a Segway.

No one should have an issue with it, but hey, you know conservatives these days. Who the **** does this Obama guy think he is with his "security detail"?

Re: Beijing hotel workers already 'fed up' with Obama entourage in 3400-square-foot,

The fact of the matter is almost ANY hotel worker is going to be tired of any VIP visit because there is extra work involved. PERIOD.

Re: Beijing hotel workers already 'fed up' with Obama entourage in 3400-square-foot,

No doubt in an effort to slap her Chinese hosts a little.... Michelle and her entourage visited a Tibetan restaurant yesterday "to send a message to the US public that she still remembers the Tibetan people."

She had lunch consisting of yak butter tea, yak soup, yak pies and boiled yak ribs, plus tsampa, a tasteless dough made from roasted barley flour and yak butter.

With these two clowns over there ticking off Russia and China, what could possibly go wrong?

Yak ribs just sounds good.

Yak pies anyone?

Re: Beijing hotel workers already 'fed up' with Obama entourage in 3400-square-foot,

Nope. China likes to bitch despite it being a despot, commie nation built upon the oppression and violent subduing of its People. Of course our cultures clash, but **** communists. Oh no! We paid for our stay and were maybe a bit rude. A lot better than the capital punishment bus that China rolls around when necessary.

I mean, were they disappointed that their failures and inadequacies were not met with the end of a gun? ****ing communists.

No thanks! You're a sweetie for asking, though! :lamo:

Greetings, SMW. :2wave:

Pity she didnt eat yak chips, that would have really made the news.

I'm sure she left with a to-go bag.

You know how hungry one can get in an $8k a night hotel suite.

Re: Beijing hotel workers already 'fed up' with Obama entourage in 3400-square-foot,

How friggin long is spring break anyway? Hasn't she been there longer than a week?

Good grief, this trip is going to cost us a fortune... and for what? Michelle to get her fill of yak?

Ridiculous. I don't blame the hotel workers in Beijing for being grumpy... it seems like she's been there a month.
