Beijing hotel workers already 'fed up' with Obama entourage in 3400-square-foot, $8,3

Re: Beijing hotel workers already 'fed up' with Obama entourage in 3400-square-foot,

Probably made up story. I doubt there is any basis in fact, too silly to really fact check.

I think I know why the Chinese are pissed off. Michelle Obama has been stiffing the hotel workers.

Doing a little research, the Obama's are just not lousy tippers but have stiffed waitress, waitresses, bellhops in the past.

Before Obama became POTUS, Barack stiffed taxi drivers in Chicago but this is just hearsay. So we'll let that one slide.

If I were a taxi driver and saw Barack or Michelle and definitely Michelle's mother waving down a cab, I sure wouldn't stop and pick up the fare.

Re: Beijing hotel workers already 'fed up' with Obama entourage in 3400-square-foot,

We have crucial interests throughout the world, and I have no problem with the First Couple traveling throughout the world so as not to give the impression of snootiness. It shows respect and curiosity for the nations we must deal with.

If they want to not come off as snooty, they should fly commercial and stay at the Ramada.

Re: Beijing hotel workers already 'fed up' with Obama entourage in 3400-square-foot,

They are the First Family in the US, they need to show some class.

Ok, so a 77 year old lady is being grumpy, and the Chinese have set up security check-points.

But this then reaches to the heart of the matter, people who weren't rich shouldn't become president, should they? That's the basis for posting stories like this, for the reason Obama is criticised for being a "community organiser" and having no experience, because he doesn't come from a rich corporate background. Elitism is alive and well.

Re: Beijing hotel workers already 'fed up' with Obama entourage in 3400-square-foot,

So you take the article at face value then?

You would too, if it were about a Conservative.

A hotel room that costs 8 grand a night has snooty written all over it.

Obama wasn't rolling pennies for gas. He may not be worth as much as other presidents, but he damn sure didn't have the struggles that most of us have.

And if money was all that mattered, John Kerry would've won in a landslide. He turned "windfall marriage" into an art form.

Just not any 77 year old lady, a grumpy old lady from the South Side of Chicago.

As for "people who weren't rich shouldn't become President," voters from now on should take that in to consideration. But no way should another community organizer should ever be elected as POTUS.

What were the Democrat Party thinking ?

I found it amusing that VP Biden had to change his hotel because the one that Michelle and girls are staying in, the same one that Biden planned to use, was deemed too expensive. How's that for fairness? Like King Henry the Second stated..."It's good to be the king!" *or queen*

Greetings, apdst. :2wave:

No, the purpose of this thread is to point out that our President's family should show some ****ing class when they represent us outside the country. If that old bag can't understand that, she shouldn't be taken along.

Re: Beijing hotel workers already 'fed up' with Obama entourage in 3400-square-foot,

How many of Laura Bush's trips abroad where defined as "personal trip"? And on how many of them did she take her mother?

I don't know. I think you should research them and get back and let us know.

You and I have already been down this exact road. We agreed that Obama should only be able to drive a 2002 Toyota Corolla to get everywhere.

3 The Presidential Suite, Waldorf Astoria, New York City
Waldorf Astoria
Price: Starts at $10,000 per night

The Layout: It’s like staying in a small wing of the Smithsonian. There’s the small, wooden rocking chair given as a gift by John F. Kennedy, between the fireplace and Eisenhower’s desk. In the bedroom—modest in size and somber in décor—you can draft a speech at General MacArthur’s desk, which dates back to the years when he lived at the Waldorf with his wife. Strangely, the windows, that look out onto unremarkable midtown scenes, are not state-of-the-art bullet-proof. The suite contains four bedrooms total, each with a separate key.

Bragging Rights: There are so-called presidential suites all over the globe, but this is the only one where every US president since Herbert Hoover has spent the night.

So you think Reagan was "snooty"?

Re: Beijing hotel workers already 'fed up' with Obama entourage in 3400-square-foot,

Nobody gave a rat's ass about First Family accomodations until Obama took office. Nobody.

It's very generous of you to admit that Michelle Obama is gracious and that her daughters are lovely, then. I'm pleasantly surprised that you were able to set aside your partisan vitriol, if only for today.

I know.

She didn't take personal trips abroad. And she never took her mother.

I don't take your word for it.

No, they just complained about him going to his ranch in Crawford. Endlessly. Daily.

And they are sure whining enough now about the cost of the Bush family travel.

Oh. That's too bad. I guess you'll have to Google it for yourself. It's quite easy to find the information.

Probably because he was AT his ranch in Crawford. Endlessly. Daily.

And they are sure whining enough now about the cost of the Bush family travel.

Wait, pointing out what the Bush costs were when righties scream up and down about Obama's constitutes "whining"? Here I thought it meant "pointing out right wing bull**** for what it is."

No. You think the difference is there and that it's important, you fetch.

Sure. It's a kiddy game. "Well SHE did it too! Jenna and Barbara went on spring break vacations!" I've seen more garbage pouring from Liberal fingers about the trips the Bush family took in the last 2 days than I saw the entire 8 years Bush was in office.

He worked from his ranch. People do that, you know. Unless of course you think Bush told everyone "I'm on vacation, turn on my out-of-office attendant and tell the country to take care of itself while I sleep in and watch soap operas." I mean, I know that's what Michael Moore wants you to believe and all that. I guess the rest of us are just smarter than that.

No, that's okay. I know the truth. You just don't want to face it. I get it. Keep the faith brother!:peace George Soros will reward you well.

Of course he worked from his ranch. Just like every vacation Obama takes is a working vacation. What on earth is your point?

And yes, you're seeing stuff about Bush travel because conservatives make asinine threads like this one whining about Obama travel. I don't get why this is so hard for you to comprehend.

The Liberals have gone to a great deal of effort to research and bring up the Bush family travel in the last few days. Instead of just saying that the First Family is entitled to travel - as they all have - the Liberal defense is what? "Bush did it too! He did! And so did his wife! And those twins on the safari - ARGGGHHHH!"

The "asinine thread" was about a report in the Daily Mail. Unlike the Bush family - it's current.

It isn't hard for me to comprehend. I enjoy watching partisan meltdowns and mentions of a woman who hasn't traveled as First Lady in 6 years.:lamo
