Rush Limbaugh selection in children’s book competition causes a stir

Rush Limbaugh selection in children

If you have kids, or nieces/nephews you want to get interested in American History, these are some good reads.

Rush, the community college dropout has someone ghostwrite a book, and he names the lead character after himself?

Making kids read this codswallop is child abuse.

my son has the book...its a very good book for childrens introduction to US History........but in typical liberal fashion some will judge it "before they know whats in it"

Haters gonna hate. Mans been top of radio for how many years now?

Just because there are many folks willing to be led around like sheep does not a prophet make.

Nah, it just feels that way every time you lose an election. Have to blame it on something, right? Couldn't be because of lousy candidates, right?

No, being responsible about the number of kids we produce finally caught up with us. That, and the fact that there is no shame in a life of welfare for your voters.

Does Rush know that the nation was founded by liberals, on liberal principles?

you mean like strong religious beliefs, not liked being controled by the goverment, not like being taxed with out representation, or believing that they should be able to own guns to protect themselves?......those kind of liberal principles?....hmmm, God believin', bible thumpin', gun totin', gubbermint hatin', tax protestin' libruls...who wudda thunk it

Sorry - the top 10 poorest states are all red states, with the exception of New Mexico. But I'm sure you knew that already. Poor states = welfare.

Take out the religion and yes, you've listed liberal values. Conservatives stand for government control, fewer rights, obedience. While the liberals were fighting the Revolution the conservatives were nervously checking out real estate in Nova Scotia. You think liberals hate guns? Who do you think is behind all the armed rebellion in history, conservatives? Conservatives have always been agents of the government and protectors of big corporate interests when liberals were fighting for individual liberties.

I do not like Obamacare
I do not like it, I am quite scared.

I would not like it in a box
I get all my news from Fox.

But that's different....

you may say that the founding fathers values were "liberal", but you actually describe them as being "liberating"..theres a difference....and there values do not even closley resemble what is promoted by modern liberalism...for one you cant take religion "out of it", liberalism is all about big government and "taking care of the people" by welfare or healthcare or any other tax driven program or government regulation, liberals want to take away gun rights, even to the point of banning them out right, and they are anti-capitalists

The Romney fans look bored and or confused as opposed to jubilant and excited?

I particularly like the confused look on the face of the girl in pink at hte bottom right along with the look of utter disinterest by the blonde with the "forward" sign in the bottom middle.

You don't even know what 'liberal' means. Too many conservatives just make a pile out of things they don't like and call the pile 'liberalism' without knowing what the hell they're talking about.
You don't get to change the definitions of words to suit yourself.

Interestingly enough, Limbaugh's book has many parrallels to Nathaniel Philbrick's Mayflower which was a 2007 finalist for the Pullitzer Prize in history.

Think the idea behind the book has merit. You throw in a silly main character, a talking horse and a bunch of history. Probably a good way to get kids into this information.

That you don't understand the fallacy in comparing Rush Limbaugh to Charles Manson, Hitler, or a key figure within the Nazi regmine then I don't quite know what else to say.

If your point was that Limbaugh is a propogandist, one could easily have said that. There's little reason to go to the nazi comparison OTHER than to invoke the natural and common emotional response associated with nazism and tie that to the target.

You breath air. OMG! Hitler breathed air. You're just like Hitler! It's okay, beucase the correlation is accurate and I dislike what you're saying so apparently it's appropriate by your logic!

[moot]Dr. Seuss was clearly just like Geobbels, because they wrote books for kids with messages in them...AKA "Brainwashing kids" [/moot]
