    Russia To Sanction U.S. Senators.....

Putin is expected to release his retaliation list as early as Tuesday and while the final list is still being crafted, it will include top Obama administration officials and high profile U.S. senators, in an effort to roughly mirror the U.S. sanctions against Russian officials and lawmakers, according to diplomatic sources. At the top of the list in Congress is Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin, who recently co-authored a resolution criticizing Russia’s invasion of Crimea.

Durbin’s inclusion on Putin’s list would mirror Obama’s naming of Valentina Matvienko, the head of the upper chamber of the Russian Duma. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell are not expected to be on the Russian sanctions list.

Sen. John McCain, who traveled to Kiev last weekend to meet with Ukrainian leaders, told The Daily Beast that he expects to be on the list and is happy about it.

“You think I’m not going to be on it?” McCain said. “I would be honored to be on that list.”

McCain said he would not be impacted financially by being subject to a visa ban and asset freeze in the Russian Federation.

“I guess I’m going to have to try to withdraw my money from my secret account in St. Petersburg,” he joked.

Other names that could be on the Russian sanctions list, although not confirmed, include Sens. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) and Bob Corker (R-TN), the leaders of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee who are leading the sanctions drive in the Senate, and Victoria Nuland, the Assistant Secretary of State for Europe, who has been heavily involved in working with the Ukrainian opposition that ousted the Yanokovich government.

One U.S. official who can rest easy is White House Press Secretary Jay Carney, who will not be on Putin’s sanctions list. Carney is rumored to be lobbying to replace former Ambassador Mike McFaul as the next U.S. Ambassador to Moscow, who will also not be on the list.....snip~

While Johnny Quest makes his joke about pulling money out of his secret account. Do you think Johnny here figured out that's what the Russians have been saying all along ever since we tried the very first one. Now What are they going to do in catching a Diplomat traveling on a travel ban? Did any think Diplomatic Immunity still didn't apply?

Yeah and Durbin.....not only put forth a resolution in the House. He has been running around and telling all that Putin is like Stalin and he will go after other Countries. Wonder How Dapper Dick feels about What Gorbachev said with his support for Putin.? What say ye.....for the Play we started with. Will it go round in circles?

This is like Putin saying; that if you sanction my countries billionaires, I spit on your Congress. It's literally almost childish, by both parties concerned.

The personal crap isn't professional, nor necessary. And it could lead to unintended consequences if they keep it up. It seems our immature Congress can't comment on other world leaders anymore, without it descending into "nah, nah you're a meanie tyrant and dictator who oppresses everyone". Like they're a bunch of saints.

Yeah, it was unavoidable that we'd have more open conflicts with another large nation, over geopolitical resources. The only reason we don't clash more with China is our reciprocal trading.

Durbin is nothing but an Obama Yes man.....though this next time round he has a Republican challenger. That has money.....which Dick here. Has been making sure his hands have been in the Cookie jar. Especially Considering the DSCC already told the Dems Senators there is No money for this election cycle.

I have been keeping my eye out to see when the final list comes in.

Plus Putin just to play with McCain might not have him on there as I am sure he saw McCains remarks about Obama in the NY times.

If my read of the Obama/Kerry show is accurate they did not realize that Putin would mirror exactly what the US is doing.

It is the same old "cold war' tactic from making cheap toasters to placing missiles, the USSR matched the US tag for tag. They put missiles in Cuba because Kennedy had put his in Turkey.

This is what the Obama administration has now created.

But wait, it will get one **** load more serious down the road. What Kerry doesn't realize is they were manipulated by Putin into this exact place.

I hope they sanction the Democrats.

ONE reason there is not more open conflict with China is because they don't have the military resources. They do have a large standing army, but is deployed internally and in occupied countries. They have a small and outdated navy with one aircraft carrier that isn't working right and another in production.

    Yet.

Besides, we have yet to see how China will assist its ally Russia in this time of need.....they do own a lot of US debt.

Afternoon F&L. Yeah I had mentioned that in another thread this morning. As I had brought up when Obama was mocking Putin. The ADHD kid in the back of the class. Now we see what the true reality looks like when it comes down to those two.

Obama winging it and trying to come with the off the cuff remarks. Wont impress Putin. Nor Intimidate him. They hd 3 phone calls with each other.....and while Putin Listened to Obama talk. I just wonder if those calls allowed them to see each other. As I wondered if Putin just put his end down until Obama was done talking.

Interesting to note the Russians aren't thinking of putting Boehner and McConnell on their list.

This was foreseen thereby the sanctions were as weak.
