Time to get rid of the school officials who believe school is their personal political and social-left goals and instead have school officials who are educators.
I agree; but there are many more problems in failing schools than inept administrations or left leaning ideals...

I don't know this child's personal history, but I doubt he is just the average "Johnny playing cops and robbers" in the school yard.

In certain bad areas, making a gun with your hand and "shooting" someone with it is a pretty grave threat. And 10 year olds from those areas know it.

Is this an inner city school, or near the hood?

Is it your position then that parents like yourself should tell their children to NOT follow the school directives and NOT report incidents like this thereby directly violating the rules of the school?

Are you taking the position that children should be told by parents NOT to follow school instructions and to NOT report what they have been told to report?

No we are taking the position that the school should use their heads and their brains (it is school after all) to say is this a threat or kids play. No tolerance means no thinking which when it comes to school is a the ultimate irony.

the school that fears thinking all in all not cool

If a school directive is totally idiotic (and in this case it is) then the answer is yes. I want my kids to grow up to be independent thinkers with common sense, not dumb little fascists.

Don't blame the school, they were simply complying with Ohio state law of "zero tolerance". According to the state law, the school didn't have to give the boy any warnings at all before suspending him...but instead they gave him and the other boys and their parents many warnings over the course of a month before they finally took action. The school isn't the problem, the parents are.

    Did everyone miss this part...
Devonshire Principal Patricia Price has warned students about pretend gun play numerous times this year, and everyone should know the rules by now.
It must have been a problem if it was not just escalated but escalated numerous times. And where were the parents when this policy was first proposed? People keep talking about "zero tolerance", but this has nothing to do with zero tolerance. This was a campus wide problem that had been going on for some time.

Apparently, the Devonshire Alternative Elementry is school for problem children, hence the name "alternative". So what do you suggest to replace it?
