Uganda newspaper names 200 'homos' after anti-gay law signed

I am sure when people are being murdered in Uganda they will feel terrible about the plight of those who had their gun ownership outed in the United States.

I doubt it, but then they probably wouldn't understand the sad need to use sarcasm rather than apologize either.

I'm hurt. Really. Here I try to consistently ascribe positive motivations to the people that were gleeful and happy about a newspaper outing CCW holders and you and Sanga insist that anyone that was actually happy about the paper doing so were nothing but scumbags that wanted to see those people hurt. Well excuse me if I dont agree with your cynical outlook.

Some criminals invested in securing weapons would be a bit more inclined to target homes where they knew the weapons were. Or...are you saying that like the New York papers, the Ugandan press is really just warning people that disagree with homosexuals not to go to their homes to try and sell donuts and paper subscriptions? Oh...wait...you think that the NY papers outed the CCW holders so the criminals could stay safe and clear of the homes and similarly, the Ugandan press was doing that for the Ugandan people.

No...I like my intent better. Like the NY papers...they just want their neighbors to keep an eye on them so that they can help them stay safe.

You know when every single post is sarcasm, you aren't saying anything at all.

Why apologize? Your point was stupid and meaningless and added nothing to the thread but a cheap and obvious attempt to derail the discussion into gun rights by drawing a broad parallel between the two situations. When challenged on it you pretend to be butthurt and proclaim yourself a follower of the principle of limited disclosure. Meanwhile, as we speak, people terrified for their lives are likely scrambling to hide. But oh, you sure do get to use their plight to score a few cheap poltical points for a completely unrelated issue. What next? Compare gun control to the Holocaust? Ammo controls to the Black Death?

Apologize? Please. Not for pointing out retarded comparisons.

1-Their neighbors will never let that happen, especially now that they know where they live, and 2-Its a shame they dont have a Constitution and a second amendment to enable them to protect themselves.

It has already happened.

Perhaps what's actually retarded, although I wouldn't use that term, is the inability to understand the simple concept of being consistently principled. But don't let that stop your crusade to label what you can't comprehend.

I am quite sincere. I'm sure the people that were in favor of the outing of the CCW holders are as driven and sincere about the Ugandan media outing of homosexuals. I dont know...maybe you should trust your fellow human beings more. BTW...how did YOU feel about them outing the CCW holders? Were you violently opposed to it as an intrusion of their rights and a threat to their families and security?

It has already happened.
Well...THAT is shocking. WHo could have foreseen such an occurrence????

I hear they are killing Christians over in that neck of the woods too. Not that THAT matters....

Uganda is predominantly Christian so...yeah.

Obviously I'm not violently opposed but I am opposed.

Can we get you on record saying that you would support locking up gay couples for life in the United States? I figure if you are going to applaud it in Uganda, you should indicate why you would or would not support it here.

I support the right of a country to exercise its legitimate discretion in punishing law-breakers. The main part of the law that needed to be passed was the part prohibiting the public advocacy of homosexuality. I do not believe that life imprisonment is an unjust penalty for the crime of sodomy.

Thanks. That is all I needed to know.

Whew! THATS good. I was a little worried for a second that you were one of those types that is selectively outraged.

WTH do you do when someone who holds such an unabashedly hateful, ignorant position towards someone for something so innocent. It's so ugly it brings tears to my eyes.

How is it hateful to support the imprisonment of law-breakers?

Yeah...I am sure being part of 85% is terribly difficult.
The whole region is hard. There have been mass killings and tragic occurences for decades, in Uganda, their neighbors...all throughout the region.

Lots of unjust laws exist in the world. If you honestly don't see the injustice in these laws and the punishment you have no humanity.

They should just leave them alone and let AIDS do its job.

Gay in Africa? Not a matter of if. Just when.

Say something original. You quoting Socrates does not gift you with any of the respect his name carries.

Besides, it's only slander if it's not true

Well I did say that when the story first broke, and I said it earlier in this topic.
