Gaining in popularity and replacing Hannity on all 50 stations is a mild, retiring young fellow named Michael Savage. Savage is now Número Dos behind Rush Limbaugh.

    That is all. Carry on.
Sorry. It was Hannity's increase in popularity that generated the moves. Our local No. #1 station had him immediately following Rush and moved him over to anchor their sister station and boost ratings there. Hannity has almost caught up with Rush in the ratings though Rush is expected to hold on to his #1 spot.

I will say that Savage's fortunes have improved with him moving from #13 three years ago to #5 now.

And Piers Morgan couldn't hold a candle to anybody on that list which is why he is out of a job.

What this tells me is that old angry white conservative guys like to listen to the radio. I bet all the advertisements are for gold coins, Depends, prostate drugs, and crotch talcum powders.
Many Trump supporters have lots of problems, and those deplorables are bringing those problems to us. They’re racists. They’re misogynists. They’re islamophobic. They're xenophobes and homophobes. And some, I assume, are good people.

Not sure what you're sorry for......

I know you have a link there, but I'm just not sure that is true.

Hannity has even taken a bit of a hit on his TV show with losing an hour to Megan Kelly. I have no idea where you stand, but I prefer Savage's passion and directness whereas Hannity seems to have become more conversational with all callers and lost a lot of Conservative passion. Hannity is a nice guy, but I don't believe he has kept pace with the more impatient and confrontational mood of the right. Hannity also allows his far left guests, such as Tamara Holder, to on on forever with their lunacy. Savage doesn't have that problem.

As far as O'Reilly goes on television, I don't think he can even claim to be a Conservative any more. I'd prefer to skip him and wait for Megan Kelly and Hannity to come on.

Ha! One can see the success of talk radio when it results in this sort of pathetic, bitter whining. Chin up Amigo, all will soon be better.

The one on that list that honestly excites me is Dave Ramsey. It would be a fantastic thing if America by and large spent the next decade or two getting ourselves out of household debt.

Actually Ramsey generally abuses the idea of investing in gold on a semi-daily basis.

Ramsey is the exception here. He dispenses basic financial common sense (with a subtle sprinkling of Jeebus). Of course, if you dont learn everything you need to know from about three of his shows, I dont know how one functions in the world. Spend less, save more. Its not rocket science.

Whatever you think of O'Reilly, he is still king of cable television in his particular genre, head and shoulders above all the others, including his fellow Fox hosts. Even the late night repeat of his show pulls more market share than almost all others do in prime time. Fox did do a shake up of their evening lineup and that has affected ratings distributed among their four prime time hosts, but all four are still leaving their competition on other cable networks in the distant dust.

And if you can find a better source than TalkersMag and Arbitron for talk radio ratings, go for it. But they are considered the authority in that genre.

The fact is that Fox News is simply a much more respected and interesting news and commentary source than any other cable news source. And the fact is that CNN lost a lot of ground by using people like Piers Morgan to compete against the Fox lineup. Nobody with a brain respects much of anything MSNBC does, but at least they aren't boring for the ideologically extreme angry left, and CNN's loss has been Fox and MSNBC's gain.

The stupid **** ought to be flogged before being shipped back to Britain. He's been an asshole from the start.
He can spell, count to 10, read and write, so he's smarter than most of the foxnews staff.

His star has been rising. He has an easy delivery style with content that can hold interest. Though he will comment sometimes when a politician says something really stupid, and as nearly as I can tell, he is a pure classical liberal (i.e. modern American conservative), he doesn't get into partisan politics all that much and that allows him to have a much broader base than he otherwise would likely have.

    Piers Morgan could take lessons.
