Remember Todd Aikin? Hand picked as an opponent by Claire McCaskill, supported with campaign contributions from her campaign. Of course, the media never reported any of that, and unfairly hung the entire Republican party with it.

The good radiologist obviously shouldn't have gone and done that, but I've also heard that doctors crack the worst doctor jokes during the middle surgeries. Probably a good thing the patient is out during the procedure.
In Nevada, some genius picked Sharon Angle to run against Harry Reid who was at the nadir of his popularity. So, it certainly makes you wonder.

I suppose he's done something wrong but I just think it's so cool that I can't get mad about it.

Not sure why that's important but yes I think that someone who was decapitated strictly by a bullet or bullets would be rare indeed, doesn't really change the fact that the person was still decapitated and their imagery is now being mocked.

I agree whole heartily that he should not have posted these X-rays of patients. Especially so if they are still alive. Given some of the wounding and maiming we are talking about, decapitations and such, doubtful that they survived, but then, why bother with an X-ray at that point anyway?
I agree with your point as it relates to Facebook - x-rays and other medical "data" are often used as training tools and educational purposes, but without any patient info/ID connected. There's no similar relevance to Facebook. Besides, here in Canada and I assume in the US, there are pretty strong privacy laws related to patient information, even of the dead, so it's hard to see how he managed to "acquire" these in a legal way.

Seems to me to be a blatant violation of HIPAA. At the very least, it's a severe breach of ethics; at worst, it's illegal misconduct.

In short... I haven't seen his page but I doubt this is really such a big deal.
Fireman around here call cops Blue Canaries - if there are no dead cops when they arrive on scene, they know there are no deadly fumes and it is safe for them to go in.

Not if the subject is anonymous.
