The factions change their allied relationships; though we know the basic outlines. I do not see how you can implement any parliamentary ( other otherwise) type of government.
What does the Syrian army want? Will the Islamists accept less then an Islamic state? The jihadists-are they willing to lay down arms?
How about the regional powers - will they stop funding/sending fighters?

The best analogy I can come up with is a boiling cauldron of internecine hate and willingness to die for a 'cause'.
Any transitional gov't wouldn't have a chance, unless we got the regional players and the Russians to enforce a peaceful transition.
Just don't see it happening while everyone is trying to leverage their advantages; much less agree to cooperate

Well.....I think Kerry wants to get back at Russia for making him look like the Putz he is.....and always was. Lavrov must be chuckling as he has Kerry running around in circles now.

Which no matter what way one looks at it.....that's not good for us.

We should just stay out of the whole mess. All we will end up with, if we go in, is dead americans and everyone hating us. Personally im tired of the "nation building" both parties of the government seem to flock to. If America wishes to help others thats fine, but we need to get our own house in order first. We have Obama on one side wanting someone friendly to him in charge and Russia wanting Assad who is friendly to Putin.....the only difference between the two is who they will kill while running Syria.

Truly Team Obama has no clue with what they are doing overseas.....really to try and blame just Assad is Pathetic. Now to call out the Russians for providing Arms.....while the Saudi and the US providing weapons and aid. While all around the region and the UN knowing. Is quite lame.

Its increasingly clear this Administration does not know how to proceed forward. They need to wake up.....Syria is not going to be handed to the Sunni and the Saud. Assad is winning.....there is no reason for him to even listen to this BS. No reason to respond.

The entire UN knows the US has backed the Rebels/Terrorists and have done so despite knowing who was all involved with the opposition. When they set up the Original leadership. Trying to fall back onto Obama's words of Assad must go, isn't working. Its not going to work.

So go back and tell Obama get over it.....No one is listening to your lying ass anymore.
I don't understand what's lame about it at all.

    - The US doesn't like Assad.

    - Kerry is claiming Russia is supporting Assad.

    - Russia is supporting Assad.

    - Kerry makes comments decrying it.

It's all very normal. He's the Secretary of State. What's lame about this?

Kerry throwing a temper tantrum because his diplomacy isn't working. Standby, we'll see more Kerry outbursts as his foreign policy agenda continues to unravel. Next up, Israeli talks with Palestinians, then the nuclear deal.

I do wish they would be successful. But they don't realize that imposing will doesn't happen with words and cocktail parties in this region of the world. Power, force, money is the only language this region understands. If we are unwilling to use these tools, then we should get out instead of tarnishing our image abroad with methods proven to be useless.

Uh...so? What does that have to do with anything? Are you trying to imply it's hypocritical or something? Then all foreign policy and relations would be. Just seems like normal interaction to me.

It has to do with the political posturing over bringing peace to the ME.....US Foreign Policy concerning the ME by Both sides was wrong, from the original take with the assessment that we can do business with those that are so called and self professed Moderates.

Оur guys will die for abstract ideas of democracy and good, аgain? We did not get cheap oil from Iraq and uranium ore from Afghanistan. From Syria we will get only coffins. We have to maintain low-level conflict there, which will deplete the strength of both sides.

...what does that have to do with what he said? Like, you're seriously upset over...nothing. This is nothing. A total nonstory.
