The real story behind the, "drought", in California and how Obama's pork-fest is nothing but more insanely wasteful spending.

Actually, the problem for Central Valley farmers is that their water got taken from them by a federal judge, who put a baitfish ahead of human beings. Central Valley’s water-management system was designed to deal with droughts that last as long as five years, but the reservoirs that held its lifeblood got emptied into the ocean to rescue the Delta smelt. It began five years ago, and as Investors Business Daily reports, the locals remember it better than Obama does:

A bit less direct, perhaps, than most examples, but really, what we have here, is just another example of liberals trying to blame conservative policies for the failures caused by liberal policies.

Thx for the aide memoire.
It does seem a little odd to forsake the people and investment in Central Valley for the fish without supplying a longterm solution to the Valley's water problem. Because California does have a growing dearth of water that is going to bite severely.
We've known that since before I was a kid.

The decision to divert the water was made in 2007, before Obama was President, by a Federal Judge appointed by G.H.W Bush.

Now you can agree or disagree with the content of Obama's speech, thats perfectly fair, but you can't blame him for this water being diverted.

Also some other facts overlooked by Hot Air:

The ruling did not "dump water from the reservoirs into the ocean," it reduced the amount of water being pumped out of its natural flow(which leads to the ocean) and into reservoirs and only for 6 months out of the year. Now again you can agree or disagree as to whether thats good policy or not, but at least be able to describe it factually.

I don't expect any of you to thank me for clearing up some of the horrible errors in the Hot Air article, but you probably should

A distinction without a difference. Now matter how you put it water that could have gone to farmers is now going into the ocean.

Obama and the dems don't care about the farmers, the California cities, or these fish in the Sacramento delta. Right now Obama, Biden and Kerry are out on a "climate change" tour for the sole reason of changing the conversation away from the failure of Obamacare before the midterm elections. Because for every newscast that spends 3 minutes talking about droughts and income inequality, they aren't talking for 3 minutes about Obama's bozo explosion healthcare law.
