SCOTUS never had the power constitutionally to begin with. They took the power to themselves despite that the founders themselves said they did not have such a grant.

I'm gonna guess by now you've realized that that makes no sense.

Gay marriage makes my Vegas marriage to Britney Spears seem hollow now. Damn gays, destroying my sanctity.

That what makes no sense? Is there a reason for the government to have different tax brackets for individuals in a contract with each other?

You said gay couples should not have "special" treatment. I asked you what you considered "special" treatment. If your example is the same tax breaks all married couples get that is not "special" treatment. It's equal treatment.

No, I didn't. I said you shouldn't get special benefits based on a relationship status. Apparently you assumed I said something I didn't.

Is that supposed to be in counter to equal protection somehow?

Okay, it was a pretty easy assumption since the OP is about extending privledges to SS couples. You posted-
Interesting. Why are there special benefits based on a relationship status?

I guess I accidentally gave you credit for staying on topic. My bad.
