That, and we need to change some idiotic drug policies.
Yea, you are still clueless. Wardens have what are called budgets. The only get to spend so much money, when that money is gone, they wait another year for more money.
I am fine with jail being Gladiator school for the inmates. I am fine with them raping and stealing from each other and its strong will survive mentality. I say they should only get to eat what they can buy or have family send them, and if some other bigger stronger inmate takes it? Too bad, better toughen up.

Left wing fringe groups few have heard of and with little real significance or importance, despite all the publicity nutcases like Noam Chomsky et al receive. Socialism truly does belong in the dust bin of history, and there it should stay.

and the innocent ****ing people in prison? those who shouldn't even be there in the first place, but should be in treatment instead? you're cool with those people getting raped and killed? i'm sure as **** not ok with it. i am ok with replacing staff at problem facilities if they can't or won't get it under control, though. eventually, somebody will work it out.

you're basically describing an environment that is only going to create more criminals; like a viral incubator for crime.

Replace with who? People don't want to work there as it is. You are just going to "replace them" at will? Hahahahahaha

well, i'd probably stick to firing upper management, mostly, unless the guards were encouraging the violence. i'm sure plenty of folks would like to be a warden. maybe one of them will even care enough about his job to do something about murders and rapes.

Is this just more proof that police in this country are trying to cover something up? This is horrible and incredibly disgusting.

If nothing else curves criminal behavior maybe this will.

Look at what it takes to become a warden and you tell me where all these qualified people are.

Apparently, they're not sitting behind a warden desk.

I can't believe you are being serious. Don't you think criminals should be punished for the crimes they committed instead of being exposed to more crime and being treated like subhumans? What does that say about those who don't care?

There is a certain level of care one can give before it becomes ridiculous. We HAVE the ability to put every inmate in a suicide proof, 24/7 365 a week full CCTV single person cells and to heart monitors, full range medical care, lots of guards around when Prisoners interact...

But at what cost? Is it not caring to say "Okay, enough is enough. These people made bad choices, life sucks for them but we cannot keep spending money on making their lives "safe"?

Or is it accepting the reality these people committed crimes, and allowing them to keep stealing from us (which is kinda how it is) to make them perfectly safe is rather idiotic. You don't like the prison conditions? Don't go to jail.
Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.
