The vast majority of "socialist regimes" claimed to be socialist, but we can have a debate about whether they were socialist or not for a whole nother thread but for the sake of your argument we will just go with every country that claimed to be socialist, communist, or Marxist are actually just that cuz they claim to be. So i would say yes they were all totalitarian. But then again the vast majority of capitalist countries historically were totalitarian as well...

State prisons -- the combined lot of them -- had a murder rate in 2011 comparable to Anchorage, Alaska.

State prisons -- the combined lot of them -- had an overall mortality rate in 2011 of 122 per 100,000. The United States had an overall mortality rate in 2011 of 740.6 per 100,000.

My statistics come from the CDC and the Department of Justice.

I don't like our prison system, I don't like our justice system, but calling prison a "death sentence" is absurd and harmful to any serious reformist argument.
I'm already gearing up for Finger Vote 2014.

Just for reference, means my post was a giant steaming pile of sarcasm.

This is a meaningless bull**** argument. The United States I was raised in didn't pride itself on being better than a ****hole of human rights, it prided itself on being #1. It was called American Exceptionalism. We shouldn't be satisfied with being better than Russia, we should hold ourselves to the highest standard and never stop until we reach it.

Yes, you would say that but of course you have no support. The opposite of socialism, communism, marxism, etc. is not capitalism.

Agreed. But my links show who the source is and the hypocrisy (i.e., the face) it uses to criticize the USA?

I'd be a lot more interested in the hypocrisy if they had a point to begin with, but they don't.

Now you're getting it! It seems that you're confusing capitalism with any number of other isms.
