    Your post is pointlessly partisan.

Rick Perry had a famous memory lapse on national television.

Now he wants to decriminalize marijuana.

Marijuana is suspected to cause short term memory loss.

Bringing up his memory loss in this context is both relevant and humorous.

Memory loss is a trait of cocaine use, which Obama admitted.

He made the mistake of not staying 100% on script - the sin of candor and the speaking mistake of numbering points when you are speaking impromptu. Nothing else. It was of the many and entirely irrelevant gotja!s the media likes to do. Obama did about 50 of them, worse than forgetting what he pre-numbered.

That Rick Perry, Gov. of Texas, a Republican in a very red state stated he does not oppose legalizing marijuana is notable.

You're right; he's not running. And it hasn't been a good week for Wendy Davis. I wonder how her staffer's remark Abbott isn't good looking, doesn't speak well, doesn't have a good personality, and is in a chair will play with Texas voters. We'll see if her campaign continues to have legs.

Texas was very blue once. It can be again.

Now you'll have to define "blue." No idea to what historical period you're referring.

I'm sorry. I almost certainly meant it was a democratic state.

Thanks for clarifying. "Blue" has a particular modern meaning that doesn't seem to fit Texas, from what I know, at any time.

Re: Rick Perry, of All People, Backs Decriminalizing Marijuana

Now that legalization of marijuana has popular support among voters the perception that speaking out for legalization is political suicide falls with it. I am sure he is but one of many surprise supporters that will emerge now that they do not feel as compelled to hide their support out of political expediency.

And for those who insist on attempting to make this partisan - legalization is not a partisan issue..it defies party lines and there are supporters spread across the entire political spectrum. And no it is not a "hippie" thing for the most part hippies are concerned with mundane things such as retirement - but I am sure many will be amused to see they are still viewed of as some kind of boogie man 40 years after the fact

He means Democrat Ann Richards who won after "busting rocks" Republican Clayton Williams explained how if a woman is going to be raped she should lie back and enjoy it. However, Queen Ann only lasted one term, losing to W Bush.
