Yes many states have criminalized infecting someone with HIV when you know about it and don't tell them. in fact it carries a murder 1 charge in most states
and the possible death penalty if they knew about it.

the reason being that without telling someone you have HIV and you infect that person you have basically given them a death sentence. the only problem is that they might not know it for months later.

He had HIV or AIDs and didn't tell the people that he slept with that he had it. that is a murder 1 charge in quite a few states.

that is the law he broke. not sure how much more it needs to be explained. It is illegal to have HIV and sleep with someone without telling them. it is a murder charge in most states. not sure what the confusion is.

it isn't possibly about it. He had HIV and slept with people without telling them he had it. that is against the law and has been for some time in most states.

Maybe, maybe not. Heterosexuals engage in the same "risky" behaviors we do. For all anyone really knows, it just appears that MSM are more at risk because we are more likely to get tested.

I don't want to make this a gay bad thread, but in this case, or any case involving gay sex with men, ya might want to make damn sure you're protecting yourself, maybe even double up, eh? Heterosexuals, on the other hand if they avoid sex with bisexual men, and people that use needles, have a statistically zero chance of getting HIV. The facts are the facts.. Interpret them how you may.

yea there seems to be a lack of that going on. with all the amount of birth control flying around which is what most people are worried about. getting someone pregnant.
they don't realize the other dangers of sleeping with multiple partners.

To the <bold>. Have to disagree. The potential positive upside to the case would be if TIME magazine picked it up. And ran with it as the frigging cover story. Anyone even considering having unprotected sex with a stranger should get slapped up side he head with this tragedy. Because it's REAL.

Some people I know believe that this is a ridiculous crime. To their thinking, everyone can protect themselves from HIV by not having unprotected sex. At least in this case, we are not dealing with a situation like rape, so that is true here.

To a point I agree with that view. These people should be responsible for their own safety, they weren't, and now they are bitching about it. But, I also sympathize with the idea that this guy had malicious intent, which should be punished.

Since I believe it is a shared responsibility, I cannot call this murder.

knowingly giving someone AIDS is no different than shooting them the only difference is that it takes years and years and years for them to finally die.
not to mention all the drugs that they have to take to try and hold off the disease. personally I would rather be shot than get AIDS.

that doesn't include the fact that their lives are now ruined. no one is going to marry them. they will not be able to have a family or anything else.

I see at least one major difference between being shot and being given HIV. When you get shot, you didn't agree to have the gun pointed at you and the trigger pulled. With being given HIV, you did agree to those things.

They did say he was a wrestler, and he is clearly black. They also mention he gave AIDS to a man, but just allege "people" were infected.
