Re: Kindle Führer: “Mein Kampf” Tops Amazon Charts

I would like to try and read it some day but probably would tire out before I finished. I never read the Bible either (equally crazy rantings). What has puzzled me all of my 66 years is the world's fascination with Hitler. Here was one dictator among many but all we see and hear is him. Mao killed more, Attila The Hun raped more women and than man in history, Stalin murdered more of his own people Amin was as close to the devil as we want. Yet, if you watched the military channel or the history channel I guarantee you Hitler is number one every single week. One has to wonder does his charisma ever fade?

Wait, you mean North Korea isn't democratic? Next you're going to tell me that the German Democratic Republic wasn't one either....

    Yep: 99 cents on amazon
Mein Kampf: Adolf Hitler, Ralph Manheim: 9780395925034: Amazon.com: Books
Maybe it's required reading by all those 8th grade teachers who assign "defend naziism" papers.

I can see i'm bout to get admonished again for the 'likes' i got on last post.

Look at what he accomplished in Germany is a short time. When Hitler came into power, Germany was a basket case. Hitler brought recovery in Germany while America and the rest of the world were still in a depression. I think FDR tried some of the things Hitler did that were successful. Like FDR's CCC. But the CCC wasn't really that successful. Most Americans already knew how to use a shovel. While Hitler built the autobahn, FDR built hiking trails and bridges to no where.

Some yeas ago I was in a research library and read the only interview of Hitler by an English speaking journalist. It was an eye opener. I think the interview took place in or around 1936. I searched and searched all over the internet and can't find the interview. But Hitler mentioned Stalin and compared his form of socialism to Stalins communist form of socialism.

With in months an American journalist conducted an interview with Stalin. Stalin also brought up Hitler and acknowledges the great accomplishments Hitler made in Germany then went on to say that the Soviets form of socialism was a better form of socialism than nationalist socialism.

It's been over forty years since I read "Mien Kampf", but I still remember Hitler's views on America. We were to far gone, a mongolized nation. But he touched on imperialism and preferred America's form of imperialism over the UK's or France's form on imperialism.

It's a book worth reading for historical context to understanding where Hitler was coming from and where he was heading. It was all there for everyone to read back before WW ll.
I honestly can't tell whether you dislike Hitler or not. If you happen to be a fan of his, wouldn't you feel that equating the Democratic party with Naziism would be a compliment?

Godwin’s Law is an internet adage that is derived from one of the earliest bits of Usenet wisdoms, which goes “if you mention Adolf Hitler or Nazis within a discussion thread, you’ve automatically ended whatever discussion you were taking part in.”
    Origin

Mike Godwin coined his observation as a “natural law of Usenet” in 1990. For more information about Godwin’s Law, check out the original FAQ page. According to the online slang dictionary Jargon File:

You didn't hear this from me, though....
Obama izza Joo? I thought he was a Muslim.

You're making stuff up! At least my post was fact based and you are just trying to blame everything on a decoy. Typical Alpha Centauri lies.

Are those assignment papers part of the new CommonCore Curriculum? I haven't heard of them!

Should all of those who voted Obama into the White House be held personally and collectively responsible for the actions and destruction that Obama has inflicted upon the country and the Middle East ?
